Ronny, this is amazing parallel thinking ! I had actually written the first of the following limericks last week but am only posting them now, and you came up with the first line of the above limerick just yesterday !
It Can Help To Get Your Bearings First
There once was a bear in Wyoming
That sent Ennis's pack horses roaming
Halfway to Montana
Until Ms Ossana
Turned them horses back Jackward a-homing.
Them and Ennis got back after nightfall.
Jack saw Ennis's gashed face was frightful.
He dabbed it a tad
With a handkerchief pad
Which his buddy found less than delightful.
Yet the upshot of that awkward cleaning?
One more nudge to the boys' hidden leaning.
Not many nights after
Primed with drinking and laughter
Their tent gave 'Camp Tender' new meaning.
The bear barely showed in Ms Proulx
Ms Ossana gave him much more to do:
To provoke - this is much! -
The first gentle touch
Of a love, to the last bearing true.
