For how to write a limerick, you're on your own. Here are the simple guidelines for clerihews. Thanks to jmmgallagher who introduced this concept to me.

Way up on that high Brokeback Mountain,
J and E did some fine layaboutin'.
At the end of it all,
they'd had quite the ball!
But far fewer sheep for the countin'.
Most cowboys high up on a mountain
would say "I'm no queer, I'm not outin'!"
But Jack's big baby blues
in the tent, were no snooze
and Big Ennis made like a fountain.
Ennis's teeth were a-chattering
and Jack said, "Get in, quit your hammering!
Above shines the moon,
and with sweet spooning, soon
