In the New Yorker...
Jeff Wrangler:
I slogged my way through the Alice Munro article in the Dec. 30, 2024 & Jan. 6,2025 issue. It's very long, it deals with the sexual abuse of her daughter committed by her (Alice's) partner, and I really don't recommend it.
But the funny thing is, reading it got me thinking about my own TNY reading habits. I always read Munro's short stories, so maybe through the years I've read more short fiction in the magazine than I realized. ???
Incidentally, I enjoyed Patricia Marx's Shouts & Murmurs. I read that because I always read Patricia Marx.

I'm reading "Love and Theft" in the latest issue about an author in the romantasy genre stealing another's plot and characters. It's interesting but it's very long and I don't know if I'll be able to finish it. Surprising how big the genre is. The stolen manuscript was the start of a six-volume series that has sold more than 3 1/2 million copies worldwide. Big money is involved. I'm also surprised that the article could appear while the litigation is ongoing. The thieving author's name is Tracy Wolff. Is this Wolf Day?

Is that in the Jan. 13 issue? My copy hasn't arrived yet.
Front-Ranger:
Yes, it's the new issue. I don't know why but I usually receive it on Tuesdays. Meanwhile, the Full Wolf Moon will be on Monday. Wolf spottings continue!

I haven't been getting my copies, though I'm pretty sure I reupped my subscription. I'll have to call them tomorrow.
