This is pretty random, so I'm posting it in Anything Goes.
I just saw Henry Winkler, aka The Fonz! He gave a talk at my hospital today, in the role of "educational ambassador" for an organization called the Open Arms Campaign. Apparently, it's involved in the treatment of sequelae from strokes. Henry's mother had a stroke many years ago, and that's his connection. (Honestly, the website looks more like an ad for Botox, the purported treatment for "upper limb spasticity". Cynical me questions his financial involvement.)
My hospital has a stroke center and support groups, and he supposedly donates his time on behalf of the organization. He spoke a little about his family; his parents were "short little Germans" who fled Nazi Germany in 1939.
A local TV station was here also; there was quite a turn out for him. He is still very recognizable, his hair is a little too long, and his jokes a little too corny. But, he was very gracious in signing stuff and taking photos with people.
He plugged an upcoming book (photos about trout fishing LOL), and some TV show he's involved with.
Yes, he did the "heyyyyyyyyy" at the beginning as a response to the applause.
