Wow - I'm so impressed with all the thoughtful discussion! I must say it hadn't occurred to me to "root" for Jeremy to end up with one particular person over another. I do agree that wanting to see Jeremy end up with Jeeves, or wanting him to end up with Nick might color your perspective of the characters and events. But to tell you the truth, I'm not sure Jeremy will "end up" with anyone at all. I'm not even sure we know yet what the "choice" in the title really signifies. Who knows? Jeremy's choice may be not to commit to anyone. I always loved Dupree's character - but this story has brought my respect and admiration for him to a new level. He is a truly amazing human being. I'll be happy with any ending that makes him happy!
And all I know is, when it comes to Louise's writing I assume nothing! Because she always comes up with something I never thought of! ;D
Great to read all your thoughts!
Thanks - Marie

very true and very possible, Marie... because sitting here at noon on a Monday, knowing I had set the "date" for the completion of this story at Friday... I have literally no clue as to what is going to happen, or what is happening, in Jeremy's mind, or in the minds of the other characters, until they "speak." And going back and reading about Ennis's confusion as he sat at Ellery's kitchen table, unable to clear his mind as long as he stayed there, I remember that I had no idea, then, what Ennis would do... or whether he would return to Laramie then.
You might call it a "method" approach to writing. I can't tell these boys what to do, and if I try, I end up going back and writing it THEIR way... otherwise, it just wouldn't be right.

Hi Louise! Well, whatever words you use to describe your approach to writing - one thing is for sure - it works! :) Your "method" approach has given us an absolutely amazing journey in the Laramie Saga - and we are now experiencing another amazing journey. Thank you so much (and I guess I need to thank all the boys, too!)!!!! :)

I don't understand why some of y'all see Jeeves as the better partner for Jeremy. It is a one sided attraction. And just because Jeeves was slow on the attack doesn't mean his intentions were any different than Nicks. I just can't see Jeremy being Jeeves boy-toy.
Now Lance however, that is an interesting pair. Both of them have needs. And as the story unfolds we are seeing that they are far more compatible than each of them think. Not just sexually. I think Lance will learn some overall disclipine too.
Ugh, Nick. What is he going to do next? That last chapter was difficult. Nick so eager to please Jeremy. Jeremy so close to acknowledging that he has strong feelings for Nick. But with Jeremy pushing himself away from Nick..... well we know how Nick reacts to that!
There should be a deadbolt lock on the door to that apartment so Jeremy can lock that boy in! LOL

Whoooa! What? A conclusion already?
Don't we get months of delicious stories about Jeremy Do-Me , er , Dupree like we did Ennis and Ellery???
I'll keep posting pictures for inspiration if you like?
