Ah Mel, that takes me back to when we lived in Germany.  We used to watch Dutch TV all the time .... never understood a word they were saying but I loved the language!

Susie

Haha! That's funny! But you do speak German then?

Sorry dat je er helemaal niks van begreep, ik zal het proberen te vertalen!

This is one of Britain's much loved comedians, Peter Kay.  He's from the north and known for his down-to-earth, working class humour, here's a few of his ads for John Smith Beer....

Great idea for a thread, sweetie!

This here is my favorite, it's the newest commercial for Amstel 1870 beer, one of Holland's leading beer brands.

I just watched the commercial Melissa! I loved the modern truck pulling up to all the guys in black and white. Very cool!  8)

They sell Amstel beer here. Heineken too! Heineken is GOOOOOOOOD!! Yummy!

Thanks for posting that commercial! I love watching commercials from other countries.  :D

Thanks to Susie too for posting hers.  :D

[nostalgic]  Okay. For all of you feeling a bit nostalgic after watching that NBC ID, I found something else for you to enjoy!

Remember those great General Cinema trailers we watched just before our favorite movie appeared on the silver screen?

Wanna see 'em again? Eric, Phillip and Clarissa found some over on youtube and posted them for us; complete with the GCC movie projector logo and the "rat-tat-tat" from the drums!

These aren't in chronological order though. The first group is from the mid mid 1980's, the second group from the 1990's, the third from the early 1980's and the fourth and fifth from the 1970's. Each clip is 15 - 20 seconds long.

These will bring back many memories for all of us who remember General Cinema and spent much time there; and even more memories for those of us who actually worked for GCC.  :)

Okay, I'll stop being so nostalgic now! I promise! [/nostalgic]

Back to the funny commercials!  :D

Yeah, I love that commercial too Shasta. Those of us with dogs can sympathize. I always wipe Cody's bottom with toilet paper when he comes in, and he gets regular worm treatments so I don't have that problem with him very often, fortunately.  :)

Here's another cute commercial, this time of a puppy!  :D

I LOVE this one....

I love the Advantix one too, David---and that's what I use for my dogs. That little voice is so cute. What kind of dog is Cody?

The pup reminds me of my Oakley when she was a baby. She's big now--about 80 pounds. She's pretty and I love her, but OMG--she's as dumb as a rock. And it's not from no training---the others are well-behaved and obedient. She was a rescue and I'm not so sure that her parents weren't related.

The Geico Cavemen are entertaining to me. This video is a compilation of several of those commercials.

Oakley is adorable!!! Is she a Lab? I love Labs!  :D  They are very good dogs.

Cody is a Golden Retriever, Shasta. He's a three year old Golden Retriever, but he THINKS he's still a puppy. He's my baby. He loves EVERYONE! I've always told people if I was ever robbed, Cody would help the robbers carry out all my possessions! He's a good watch dog though, because he barks whenever he hears something. But as soon as he sees the person, he stops his barking.

I have a tuxedo cat named Oreo too! And two gold fish that LOVE it when I pet them. I stick my hand down in their tank and they swim right up and I pet them!  :D

Can you believe it? I have some very strange animals in my house!

Yeah, that Advantix is good stuff. I use it on Cody too.

BTW, I love the Geico cavemen too. Did you know they are thinking about making a television series about them?

LMAO! I just love those cavemen commercials, they crack me up. Have you heard, that NBC (i think) already has a "geico cavemen" pilot to air this fall? IMO that's a little over the top, but it could suprise me and end up being a complete success

These two are some of my favorite commercials.

I just can't watch this one and not do the little dance with the guy! Great stuff
