I guess this is as a good a place to post this as anywhere else.
Heidi Stevens is a columnist for the Tribune News Service. The hometown newspaper ran her column today, an appreciation of Dolly Parton. This was the next to last paragraph; it almost made me cry.
"For 80 years, it was Dolly Parton's world, and we were lucky, truly, to be living in it. She was a champion of children, a peerless talent, a giant-hearted humanitarian, an unwavering ally to marginalized folks, and completely uninterested in what you thought she ought to be doing instead."
