I was listening to this song a few days ago and it stuck in my mind. I don't do the gatherings...for a lot of reasons. But I think MOSTLY because here I have control. I have spent so much of my life out of control...at the whims of others...

Here I can control the level of intimacy. People here can hurt me...but the pain is limited by the anonymity...I can walk away anytime.

that line. The anger of having been a fool. That is so painfully true for me. I can't forgive myself for not being a stronger child.

This song is much different from any other song that I have heard sung by Loreena McKennitt. And I finally realized why. It is an anthem.
