I don't even bother. Only one I went to was the first--the fifth-year reunion (some people already had three kids
).
Came time for the ten-year reunion, I was unemployed; I sure wasn't going to go back and tell people I hadn't liked and who handn't like me in high school that I was unemployed!
At twenty years I just wasn't interested. I never heard anything about the twenty-fifth.
I really did not hang around with people during my high school years (which probably explains a lot about my life now
). I spent my after-school hours with my nose in a book or in front of the television. The high school years were not good years. I was the proverbial fat kid with glasses, and a prig to boot. The people who were involved with what I was involved with, the newspaper, the drama club, scattered after high school and never looked back.
I am in touch with only one person from my class, and even in the case of him and his wife and kids, not as often as I should be. We both decided we had no interest in our thirty-year reunion last year.
If you have friends you are interested in seeing and can be assured that they will be there, then it might be fun to go. Otherwise, why bother?
