"Z" is Zulu Dawn (1979)

ZULU DAWN
Director: Douglas Hickox, 1979

This epic recounts the Battle of Isandhlwana fought on 22 January 1879 in Natal, South Africa. In the course of the fighting about 1,200 British soldiers were massacred by a force of over 20,000 Zulu warriors and the regimental colors were lost. Isandhlwana was the first engagement of the Anglo-Zulu War and stands as one of the most shocking defeats in British military history. Zulu Dawn was written by Cy Enfield as a prequel to his more successful film Zulu released fifteen years earlier.

And with that, the sun does set on the British Empire!

Thanks again to Meryl for that suggestion. I would never have thought of it, myself! If any of you have other ideas for special rounds, please PM them to me. I think as we get to the point of no more traditional rounds (ie, years) the game will turn into special rounds. If people have thoughts on that, too, I'd be interested in hearing them. I love this game and want to keep it going!

Thanks,

Leslie

I found it to be a very challenging round, I think I only contributed once, lol!  Very few films came immediately to mind so more work was required, which is to be expected as the game specializes more and more.

How about:

a Science Fiction Round,
a film Film Noir round,
a Musicals round,

Tributes to an Era
a round that focuses only on award nominees and winners

We've done these..."personal favorites" would be the guilty pleasures round.

But that brings up another question...what do people think of repeating special rounds? I know everyone really liked the "numerology" round and "working stiffs." Would people be okay with repeating a special round?
