Oh that's a good video. You should see some of the ones that have been edited by VanFans.... lol. :)

What do you mean?  Do you mean the Vanfans have filmed DMD and posted them?  How could I have missed that!  :(  Can you give me the links to watch them?  Thanks.

Oh gosh, that may be a bit difficult...

I still haven't figured out completely how to navigate vanhansis.net, but I know that some people have posted videos.

That's ok, but are you referring to the videos the Van fans took of their meetings with Van after seeing DMD?  I don't think they taped anything from the play.  How adorable is Van?

Yes, he's completely adorable, in a non-domineering way, which makes it even more adorable. He's one of those people with accessible beauty.

Well this one didn't go as well as I had hoped. I wanted to include another storyline besides Luke and Noah, but kept finding myself drawn back to those two.

“AS THE WORLD TURNS”

TELEPLAY

<FADE IN>

SCENE: AN OLD RUNDOWN HOTEL ROOM

DUSTY ENTERS, UPSET.
HE THROWS A BINDER ON THE BED
AND GOES TO LOOK OUT THE WINDOW

A FLASH OF LIGHTNING IN THE DISTANCE

HIS CELLPHONE SUDDENLY RINGS.
DUSTY ANSWERS IT.

MYSTERIOUS STRANGER:
Mr. Donovan.
I have good news for you.
As soon as your most
recent plan shows promise
in the matter regarding
Mr. Mayer,
you'll receive another
thousand.

DUSTY SIGHS:
That's good to hear. I-

DUSTY LOOKS AT HIS PHONE.

DUSTY:
Damn!

DUSTY HITS A FEW NUMBERS
ON THE CELLPHONE.

DUSTY:
Emily! Can you meet me?

<PAUSE>

DUSTY:
No, it's not that.

<FADE OUT>

<OPENING CREDITS>

<COMMERCIAL>

<FADE IN>

SCENE: THE SNYDER FARMHOUSE PORCH IS STILL LIT BY CANDLES.
NOAH IS HOLDING LUKE AGAINST HIM IN A COMFORTING MANNER.

NOAH:
Luke.... I swear, my father's not going to do this to us.

LUKE:
How can you be so sure?
Look at all he's done already,
from prison.

NOAH (DETERMINED AND ANGRY):
I won't let him.

LUKE:
Oh Noah, whatever's in store for us...
I don't think you have much control over it.
We'll just have to face it when it comes.

NOAH (UNBELIEVING):
You want me to face it with you?
Luke, if it weren't for me, none
of this would have ever happened.

LUKE:
Noah, of course I want you
to face it with me.
It looks like whatever's coming
is going to affect you more than
me anyway.
He is your father, afterall.

NOAH:
The only one I knew,
but wish I never did.

LUKE LEANS BACK AND LOOKS UP INTO NOAH'S EYES:
Noah....

OFFICER TRENTON ENTERS THE PORCH, SWINGING HIS
FLASHLIGHT BEHIND HIM AS HE LOOKS AROUND.

OFFICER TRENTON:
There's no one out there now.
But I can let dispatch know.

LUKE LOOKS UP:
Okay, that sounds good.
Maybe he's gone for good,...
just somebody trying to take
a shortcut home or something.

OFFICER TRENTON NODS:
That's a possibility.
I have to radio in to HQ.
I'll be back up in a minute.

A DISTANT FLASH OF LIGHTNING, QUIET THUNDER

OFFICER TRENTON TURNS AROUND AND HEADS BACK OUT.

LUKE:
It looks like the storm's moving on...

NOAH:
Who knows how long until the
power comes back on...

LUKE NESTLES HIS HEAD ON NOAH'S SHOULDER.

LUKE:
It can't be too long.

LUKE SUDDENLY JERKS HIS HEAD UP.

LUKE:
Noah, what if Dad and Grandma and the girls
had to go to the hospital. One of them's hurt?

NOAH:
Well, they should have left a note, or
something if they did that.... don't you think?

LUKE:
Not if it was really serious.

NOAH:
Okay... we'll try to find out
when Officer Trenton comes back...

<FADE OUT>

OFFICER TRENTON APPROACHES THE CAR.

<OMINOUS MUSIC>

A RUSTLE IN THE LEAVES.

OFFICER TRENTON TURNS AROUND,
FLIPS HIS FLASHLIGHT ON, TENSE
AND TROUBLED.

AFTER A FEW SECONDS OF SEARCHING,
OFFICER TRENTON'S FLASHLIGHT LIGHT FALLS
ON A LARGE DEER, WHO THEN DARTS OFF
INTO THE WOODS.

OFFICER TRENTON SIGHS AND TURNS BACK TO THE CAR.
HE REACHES IN AND GRABS HIS RADIO.

OFFICER TRENTON:
Dispatch, this is Trenton, checking in.

A PISTOL WITH A SILENCER IS RAISED,
FLASHES SUDDENLY.

OFFICER TRENTON CRUMPLES TO THE GROUND

RADIO:
Trenton, Dispatch here, go ahead.

<PAUSE>

RADIO (CONT'D):
Trenton?

<TRANSITION>

SCENE: THE LAKEVIEW LOBBY. LILY IS PACING. LUCINDA IS
SIPPING FROM A CUP OF TEA.

LUCINDA LOOKS UP:
Lily, will you sit down?
You've been pacing for hours.
I'm sure Margo will call you
as soon as she knows something.

LILY:
Mother, I can't take this anymore.
I have to go see if they're alright.

LUCINDA:
Wait til tomorrow, Lily.
The roads are all icy now.
It's dangerous going out in the dark.

LILY:
Oh mother!
Why do you always have to be so right?

LUCINDA:
I'm your mother, dear.
It's what I'm good at.

LILY PICKS UP THE PHONE AND DIALS.

<TRANSITION>

SCENE: THE OAKDALE POLICE STATION.

MARGO'S PHONE RINGS. SHE PICKS UP.

MARGO:
Chief -
Oh hello again, Lily.
We haven't heard back yet from Trenton,
but as soon as we do I'll let you know.

A POLICE CAPTAIN RUSHES INTO HER OFFICE:
Margo,
we've lost Trenton.

MARGO LOOKS UP WORRIED:
I'll have to call you back, Lily.
Hold on.

MARGO HANGS UP THE PHONE:
What do you mean,
we've lost Trenton?

POLICE CAPTAIN:
He just radioed dispatch,
but they can't get a hold of him now.

MARGO HAS A DETERMINED LOOK ON HER FACE.

MARGO:
Get Captain Snyder and tell him to take someone with him up
to the Snyder place. I think something might be going
on out there.

<OMINOUS MUSIC>

<FADE OUT>

<FADE IN>

SCENE: THE SNYDER FARMHOUSE PORCH

LUKE AND NOAH ARE STILL SITTING TOGETHER.

LUKE SHIVERS A LITTLE:
Don't you get cold, Noah?

NOAH:
Yeah... just not when you're around.

LUKE:
It just feels so.... dead.
Being cold, I mean.
The part where you go numb
especially.

NOAH NODS, CONCERNED:
Are you too cold.

LUKE:
No, I'll be alright.
It just feels that way again tonight.
It's just so dead and dark out there....
and we're separate from the rest of the world.
No phones, nobody else here.
I don't know what's going on, but Noah...

LUKE LOOKS UP INTO NOAH'S EYES.

LUKE (CONT'D):
It's really, really scaring me.

NOAH:
I can see that, Luke...
We just have to keep a cool head though.
How many dangerous things have happened to you here?

LUKE SHAKES HIS HEAD:
Not many, really.... I mean.
It's been pretty safe overall.

NOAH:
It'll stay that way then.
There's nothing here that will hurt you.

LUKE:
That guy that I saw out there.
He... I thought he wanted to kill me.

NOAH SHRUGS:
Why? Luke, what have you done to anyone
that would make them want to kill you?

LUKE:
I know. You're right.
It's just... what I felt.
I can't explain why.
I would feel a lot better if my dad and mom were here.

NOAH BRUSHES HIS HAND THROUGH LUKE'S HAIR
IN A REASSURING GESTURE. HE PUTS BOTH HIS ARMS AROUND HIM.

NOAH:
Can I do for now?

LUKE NODS, SADLY
AND LEANS AGAINST NOAH AGAIN.

LUKE, DROWSILY:
Shouldn't Officer Trenton be back by now?

NOAH LOOKS AT HIS WATCH:
It's been a while, yes.
Maybe he's getting some info for us.

LUKE:
What type of info?

NOAH SHRUGS:
Maybe something about your family?

LUKE:
I hope so, Noah.
I mean they're really good to me.
I don't know what I would do if
I didn't have them.

NOAH:
I'll be here for you
as long as I'm able.

LUKE:
I know, Noah.

<FADE OUT>

<COMMERCIAL>

<FADE IN>

SCENE: A DARK COUNTRY DRIVEWAY.
A POLICE CAR IS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY,
IT'S DOOR HANGING OPEN.

A SECOND POLICE CAR DRIVES UP THE DRIVEWAY
AND PARKS BEHIND IT. JACK SNYDER AND OFFICER HAMESWORTH
GET OUT. THEY ARE BOTH EQUIPPED WITH PERSONAL
RADIOS.

JACK SNYDER PULLS OUT HIS RADIO:
Dispatch, this is Captain Snyder.
We've found Trenton's car. No sign
of Trenton though.

THE RADIO:
Understood. What's the situation?

JACK WALKS UP TO THE CAR SLOWLY,
HAND TO HIS GUN, THE OTHER HAND
HOLDING A FLASHLIGHT. HE LOOKS AROUND CAREFULLY.

OFFICER HAMESWORTH APPROACHES THE CAR FROM THE OTHER
SIDE, WATCHING THE FOREST NEARBY.

JACK KNEELS DOWN TO THE GROUND,
EXAMINES THE AREA BY THE DOOR TO TRENTON'S CAR.

JACK:
Dispatch, we have signs of a struggle here.

OFFICER HAMESWORTH LOOKS UP:
A struggle?

JACK POINTS AT THE GROUND.
Something big was rolling around in the mud there,
or fell in it, or something.

OFFICER HAMESWORTH:
Trenton?

JACK SHRUGS:
Could be.
Let's check the house.
Luke and Noah should
be here somewhere.

<TRANSITION>

SCENE: THE SNYDER FARMHOUSE PORCH. LUKE
AND NOAH ARE STILL SITTING TOGETHER, LUKE
FOCUSING ON SOME INTERNAL BATTLE AND NOAH
COMFORTING HIM THE BEST HE CAN.

JACK AND HAMESWORTH ENTER.

NOAH LOOKS UP:
What happened to Officer Trenton?

JACK AND HAMESWORTH LOOK AT
EACH OTHER.

JACK:
That's what we want to know.

LUKE:
He said he was going out
to radio headquarters.

JACK:
Oh... and you haven't seen him since?

NOAH SHAKES HIS HEAD:
No, something happen to him?

OFFICER HAMESWORTH:
I'm sure he wanted to patrol the area again.

LUKE NODS:
Maybe he was able to help that other guy I saw.

JACK:
What other guy?

NOAH:
There was someone here in the yard during the worse
part of the storm. Luke went out to see who it was.
And it turned out to be someone he didn't know.

JACK AND HAMESWORTH LOOK AT EACH OTHER AGAIN.

LUKE:
I guess he was just trying to take a shortcut home.
A neighbor or something.

JACK:
Luke, there are no neighbors for miles around.

LUKE:
I know... but its what made sense to me at the time.

JACK SHAKES HIS HEAD:
Where's Dad and Grandma?

LUKE:
I don't know... they weren't here
when we got home.

JACK:
Really? That's not like dad at all.

LUKE:
Well, you're free to look yourself.
Electricity's out, Phone's out.
I guess we can be grateful we still
have running water.

NOAH:
Officer Trenton looked around too.

JACK NODS AND PICKS UP HIS RADIO:
Dispatch, Trenton is nowhere in sight.
Mayer and Luke are safe enough for now
if Lily calls again.

JACK (CONT'D):
Oh and one more thing.
Luke saw a prowler up here.
That's not something I would tell Lily though.

HENRY COMES OUT OF THE KITCHEN:
Okay, everyone... More coffee?

HOLDEN RAISES HIS CUP.

EMMA:
Oh yes, please. It's
so kind of you to let us
stay here until the storm blows over.

HENRY:
Don't worry about it.
I'm surprised Luke
and Noah aren't here with you.

HOLDEN:
They went to have dinner with Lily.

HENRY:
Ahhh. And how is that working out?

HOLDEN:
Lily's great with them.
I just... tried to warn her.

HENRY:
Warn her?

HOLDEN:
About Luke and Noah...
you know, they can be kind of intense.

HENRY:
You're telling me!
I haven't seen anything
like what I saw between those two.

EMMA:
What do you mean?

HENRY:
Well, its obvious they're in love.

EMMA LOOKS AT HOLDEN WITH A WORRIED EXPRESSION.

HOLDEN TAKES HER HAND IN A REASSURING MANNER.

<FADE OUT>

<OPENING TITLES>

<COMMERCIAL>

<FADE IN>

SCENE: AL'S DINER.

FAITH NOTICES THE EXCHANGE BETWEEN HOLDEN
AND EMMA.

FAITH:
Grandma, are you okay?
You don't like it that Luke and
Noah are in love?

EMMA:
Oh no, honey.
It's fine.
I just... have to get
used to it. That's all.
Noah is one of the
best things that ever
happened to Luke.
And we can't ever forget that.

HOLDEN NODS:
It looks like the ice has let up
enough now that we can make it
back home. What do you say, girls?

FAITH:
Sounds great.

NATALIE:
Maybe Noah and Luke will be back when we get there.

THEY ALL GET UP TO LEAVE.

HENRY NODS POLITELY TO THEM:
Drive safe out there!

THE LIGHTS FLICKER AGAIN, THEN FINALLY GO BACK ON.

HENRY:
At last!

THE PATRONS AT THE RESTAURANT APPLAUD.

<TRANSITION>

SCENE: THE SNYDER FARMHOUSE PORCH

THE LIGHTS FLICKER ON INSIDE THE HOUSE.

NOAH:
Oh, finally. Let's go in and get warmed up.
You want some coffee?

LUKE SMILES:
I didn't know you could cook.

NOAH:
It's just coffee, Luke.
Not hard or anything, you just follow the instructions.

LUKE (WARMLY):
I'd love some.
While you're doing that, I
guess I'll reset the clocks.

NOAH:
Sounds like a plan.

THEY ENTER THE FARMHOUSE JUST AS JACK AND OFFICER
HAMESWORTH COME DOWN THE STAIRS.

JACK:
Well, you're right, Luke. No one's here.
The electricity came back on though.

JACK PICKS UP THE PHONE:
Phone's still dead.

LUKE NODS:
Okay. I think we can make it from here.

JACK:
Right well Hamesworth and myself are going to have
a look around the property. Check the barn and stuff.

LUKE:
Okay.

NOAH LOOKS UP:
Anything we need to do?

JACK:
Stay in here.

NOAH RAISES HIS HANDS A LITTLE:
No problem with that here.

LUKE LOOKS AT NOAH AND SMILES.

OFFICER HAMESWORTH AND JACK LOOK AT EACH OTHER.
JACK SHAKES HIS HEAD AND THEY EXIT.

LUKE:
So what now? Oh right, the clocks.

NOAH CHUCKLES A LITTLE.

LUKE SMILES BACK:
I'll be back in a minute.

NOAH:
Aren't you tired?
It's been a long night.

LUKE:
Yeah it has been.
Hey, what time is it, anyway?

NOAH LOOKS AT HIS WATCH:
Three forty-five AM.

LUKE:
Wow. It has been a long night.
(SADLY)
I hope everyone else is doing okay.

NOAH TURNS WHEN HE HEARS THE SADNESS IN LUKE'S VOICE.

NOAH:
Luke. Come here.

LUKE WALKS OVER BY NOAH.
NOAH PULLS HIM INTO HIS ARMS AND THEY EMBRACE
FOR A MOMENT.

NOAH:
Everything's going to be okay.

LUKE (BECOMING UPSET):
How can you still say that, Noah?
After all that your father's done.
With what he's still doing!

NOAH:
We're not going to worry about
my father right now, Luke.

LUKE (STILL UPSET):
Well when would you like to?
I'll get my planner and we
can put it in there.
'Worry about Noah's father's homicidal plans
and vague threats being hurled through
truck windows.'

NOAH IS SILENT FOR A MOMENT:
Looks like you're doing enough worrying
for both of us.

LUKE SIGHS:
Oh Noah, I don't want to.
I really don't want to worry at all.
I just want us to be together
and to be happy
without having to worry.

NOAH:
Then don't.

LUKE:
Don't? Don't worry?
Noah, I'm still terrified of that guy
that was out there.

NOAH:
He didn't hurt you, Luke. It's okay.

LUKE:
I still think.... I think he wanted to.

DESK SERGEANT:
Yes ma'am. Full power back in Oakdale.
The hospital's off emergency generators.
You want us to flick ours off too.

MARGO:
Please. Save some of that juice for later.

DESK SERGEANT:
Right.

MARGO:
Any word on Trenton?

DESK SERGEANT SHAKES HIS HEAD.

MARGO SIGHS:
Someone get me some more coffee.
This is going to be a long night.

THE CLERK NODS:
Oh, the power's back up in Oakdale.

LILY:
Thanks for that. I'll try calling the farm again.

LILY GRABS THE PHONE, DIALS:

<PAUSE>

Come on, pick up.
Isn't anyone there?

LILY SIGHS, EXASPERATED.
SHE HANGS UP THE PHONE,
PACES IN THE LOBBY SOME MORE.
LILY PICKS UP THE PHONE AGAIN,
PRESSES A BUTTON.

OPERATOR:
How may I connect your call?

LILY:
The Snyders, 555-6719.

OPERATOR:
A moment please.

A FAMILIAR PAIR OF BLACK SLACKS AND
GLOSSY SHOES.

<OMINOUS MUSIC>

OPERATOR:
That number appears to be disconnected.

LILY (SHOCKED):
What? What do you mean?
I just called it before the storm.

OPERATOR:
The wires may be down, ma'am.
We'll send out a maintenance crew
in the morning.

EMILY RUSHES OVER TO DUSTY:
What is it you want?!

DUSTY:
It's good to see you again, too.

EMILY (EXASPERATED):
Oh get over that will you.
I am with Chris! How many times
do I have to tell you?

DUSTY REACHES OUT AND CARESSES EMILY'S SHOULDER.

DUSTY:
We belong together, Emily.
We always have. I've
already told you how I've
felt about you.

EMILY:
Me and half a dozen other women
from what I've heard. What
about Lily?

DUSTY:
She already knows I don't love her.
That charade is over.
It's you I want to be with.

EMILY TRIES TO PULL AWAY:
Stop talking like that!

DUSTY BEGINS TO SLOWLY GET MAD:
Why not? It's true.
And you want to be with me.

EMILY (WORRIED):
No, I don't.
Why don't you go bother
some other unsuspecting victim
of your charms.

EMILY TURNS AWAY, UNCERTAINTY IN HER EYES.

DUSTY:
You feel it too, don't you?
We could be so good together.

EMILY:
That – no. That's not
going to happen. Ever.

DUSTY:
Come with me.

EMILY:
Where would we go?

DUSTY:
Does it really matter?

EMILY:
You're insane. How-

DUSTY INTERRUPTS HER,
GRABBING HER WRIST:
That's what people keep telling me.

EMILY (STUNNED):
What are you going to do?
Kidnap me too?

DUSTY (SERIOUS):
If I have to.

THE ELEVATOR DOORS OPEN.
DUSTY LETS GO OF EMILY'S WRIST.

<TRANSITION>

SCENE: HOLDEN'S CAR. HOLDEN AND EMMA ARE IN THE FRONT SEAT.
FAITH, NATALIE, AND ETHAN ARE IN THE BACK.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE GOING PRETTY STRONGLY.

HOLDEN LOOKS OVER AT EMMA:
You okay, Mama?

EMMA:
Oh, I'm fine. I'm just a little worried.

HOLDEN:
What about?

EMMA:
Luke.

HOLDEN:
I'm sure Luke and Noah are fine.
They're safe, wherever they are.

EMMA:
I hope you're right, Holden.
I just can't put something out
of my mind.

HOLDEN:
What?

EMMA CHUCKLES:
Oh its nothing, Holden.
Just a little superstition that's all.
And I don't want to frighten
the children.

HOLDEN LOOKS OVER AT EMMA, CONCERNED.

A SUDDEN SQUEAL OF TIRES.

EMMA:
Holden, the ice!

<BLACK OUT>

THE SOUND OF METAL AND GLASS CRASHING.

TELEPLAY

<FADE IN>

SCENE: THE SNYDER FARMHOUSE

LUKE AND NOAH ARE IN THE SAME PLACES
WE LAST LEFT THEM.

LUKE:
I think he really wanted to hurt me.

NOAH:
Well, what makes you think that?
Did he have a weapon or anything?

LUKE:
I don't know. It was dark.

NOAH:
The point is, Luke,
he didn't hurt you, and we're doing
very well, aside from being cold
and a little frightened and a
little hungry.

LUKE:
Hungry? Again?

NOAH:
Yeah.

LUKE:
Well the fridge is stocked, help yourself.

NOAH:
Probably won't be cold.

LUKE:
Oh yeah. The electricity.

LUKE PAUSES.

LUKE (CONT'D):
So why do you think Jack and Officer Hamesworth came up here too?

NOAH:
Well I think they're looking for the other cop that was here,
Officer Trenton.

LUKE:
Yeah, what happened to him?
He just disappeared?

NOAH SHRUGS:
I'd rather the police handle that one, Luke.

NOAH SMILES (CONT'D):
I may be able to direct a good mystery,
but I'm not good at coming up with them.

LUKE LAUGHS:
Okay. I get the point.

NOAH:
I'd go see if they need some help,
but they told us to stay in here.

LUKE NODS, THOUGHTFUL:
Right.

JACK:

What is it?

JACK STARTS DIGGING THROUGH HAY:
Not sure – Oh my god!

HAMESWORTH RUNS OVER TO WHERE JACK IS,
THEY'RE BOTH LOOKING DOWN AT TRENTON'S BODY.

HAMESWORTH:
Is he -

JACK NODS QUICKLY AND REACHES FOR HIS RADIO:
Dispatch, we're going to need
a medical team up at the Snyder place.

RADIO:
Medical on it's-

MARGO'S VOICE SUDDENLY TAKES OVER:
Jack, what's going on out there?
Let's take this to a private channel.

MARGO'S VOICE IS A LITTLE CLEARER:
Okay, go.

JACK:
We found Officer Trenton's body.
I think Luke's prowler might be
a little more than just a prowler.

MARGO:
Oh no. Trenton's gone?

JACK:
Yes, ma'am.
Looks like a clean shot to the head.

MARGO:
I'm sending the coroner out too then.
Are Luke and Noah safe?

JACK AND HAMESWORTH LOOK AT EACH OTHER.

JACK:
I believe so, ma'am.
They're in the house.
I told them to stay there.

MARGO RELAXES IN HER CHAIN AS RELIEF WASHES OVER HER.
SHE CLUTCHES THE RADIO RECEIVER.

MARGO:
That's good, keep an eye on those two.
I don't want anything more happening up there.

JACK'S VOICE:
Ma'am.

MARGO SIGHS AS SHE PUTS THE RECEIVER DOWN.

THE DESK SERGEANT KNOCKS ON HER DOOR:
Chief-

MARGO PINCHES THE BRIDGE OF HER NOSE.

MARGO:
What is it now?

DESK SERGEANT:
Car accident. Thought you'd want to
know about it. It's the Snyders.

MARGO:
What kind of nightmare is this?!!

Were there any injuries?

DESK SERGEANT:
Holden and Emma are unconscious, some scratches – heavy bleeding.
Faith, Natalie, and Ethan are shaken but unharmed.

MARGO:
Thats a relief at least.
Okay. I'll call Lily.
You make sure the team gets up to the Snyder Farmhouse.

MARGO SITS DOWN AND PICKS UP HER PHONE.

<TRANSITION>

SCENE: THE LAKEVIEW LOBBY

LILY IS FALLING ASLEEP IN A CHAIR IN THE LOBBY.

THE PHONE SUDDENLY RINGS AND SHE JUMPS UP TO ANSWER IT.

LILY:
Margo, is-

<PAUSE>

LILY (TEARS RISING TO HER EYES):
Oh no! The children?
They're alright? Thank god!
I'll be out to the hospital right away.

<PAUSE>

LILY (CONT'D):
I'll be careful.

<TRANSITION>

SCENE: THE SNYDER FARMHOUSE BARN

JACK AND HAMESWORTH ARE SILENTLY MOURNING.

HAMESWORTH:
So what do we do now? Move-

JACK:
We don't do a thing til Medical and the coroner get here.

HAMESWORTH:
Right.

THERE IS A SCRAPING SOUND OF METAL AGAINST WOOD.

HAMESWORTH:
What's that?

JACK DRAWS OUT HIS HANDGUN. HAMESWORTH FOLLOWS SUIT.

JACK RAISES A FINGER TO HIS LIPS AND BEGINS SLOWLY
MOVING TOWARD WHERE THE SOUND CAME FROM.

<TRANSITION>

A GLOVED HAND REACHES OUT FROM BEHIND THE WALL
AND SWITCHES THE SWITCH NEAR THE ENTRY, THROWING
THE BARN INTO DARKNESS.

A QUIETED FLASH OF FIRE FROM A SILENCED HANDGUN.

A GRUNT IN THE DARKNESS AND A RUSTLE OF STRAW.

LUKE AND NOAH ARE SITTING AT THE TABLE WITH STEAMING MUGS.

LUKE:
Well that's at least warmer.

NOAH:
Yeah, its better than being out
on the cold porch all night, anyway.

THE DISTANT SOUND OF SHOTS BEING FIRED

LUKE JUMPS UP:
Was that shooting?

NOAH STANDS UP QUICKLY:
Yes, definitely.
Handguns from the sound of it.

LUKE:
What do we do?

NOAH:
You have a gun someplace?

LUKE:
Well my dad's... It's-

NOAH NODS:
I know where it is.

SCENE: THE LAKEVIEW LOBBY

LILY HAS GRABBED HER THINGS AND IS READY TO GO.
SHE STOPS BY THE COUNTER.

LILY:
Oh, tell my mother about the accident.
I'll be back as soon as I can.

THE FRONT DESK CLERK WAVES HER ON:
Everything is under control here, Mrs. Snyder.

LILY:
Good, I knew I could count on you.

SCENE: OAKDALE MEDICAL CENTER

DUSTY AND EMILY ARE STILL ARGUING IN THE LOBBY.
THE ELEVATORS OPEN AND MEDICAL ATTENDANTS PUSH
EMMA AND HOLDEN OUT ON GURNEYS. FAITH AND NATALIE FOLLOW,
STILL CONFUSED AND SCARED, FAITH HOLDING ETHAN.

DUSTY:
Oh no.
They really don't need this right now.

EMILY LOOKS OVER:
It's Lily's family.

DUSTY (SADDENED):
I know.
I just.... they don't need
that type of grief-
with the divorce and everything.

EMILY LOOKS AT DUSTY SUSPICIOUSLY.

CHRIS RUSHES BY, BRUTALLY PUSHING DUSTY OUT
OF THE WAY.

CHRIS (CRUELLY):
Get out of the way or I'll have you removed!
I have patients to tend to.

DUSTY SHRUGS.

DUSTY:
I didn't realize I was in your way.

CHRIS SNEERS AND EXITS.

THE ELEVATOR DOORS OPEN AGAIN AND MARGO ENTERS.

MARGO:
Oh there you are! Faith! Natalie!
Is everyone all right?

FAITH AND NATALIE RUN TO MARGO'S ARMS.

FAITH:
Grandma and dad, they're hurt bad.

MARGO HUGS FAITH:
I know, we just have to wait
and see what the doctors say.

NATALIE:
What about Ethan? Will he be okay?

MARGO LOOKS AT ETHAN:
He seems to be.
How about you, Natalie?

NATALIE:
I really hate ice!
It keeps hurting people.

MARGO:
Yes, I suppose that Ice is pretty dangerous.
Come on, lets go down to the waiting room
and see when your mom comes in.

FAITH:
Okay.

FAITH PICKS UP ETHAN AND TAKES HIM ALONG WITH HER.
NATALIE FOLLOWS.

MARGO:
I'll be down in a minute.

MARGO LOOKS AT DUSTY:
I assume you have a valid reason for being here?

EMILY:
He's snooping around again, as usual.

DUSTY:
Call it what you want to.

MARGO:
Well, after what happened with Lily, Dusty,
why should we think you've changed your ways?

DUSTY:
That was different. I wasn't thinking
right at the time.

MARGO:
Well I knew that.
Do you ever think right?

DUSTY SIGHS, SHAKES HIS HEAD:
I didn't think you'd understand.

MARGO:
Well of course I won't,
if nobody explains it to me.

MARGO TURNS TO LEAVE:
Don't let me catch you doing anything
while you're here, Donovan.
The jail is pretty much empty,
and we've gotten to like your company down there.

DUSTY SMIRKS.

It's so good to see them alive!
What a horrible night this has been.

FAITH AND NATALIE RUSH OVER TO HUG LILY.

LILY LOOKS AT MARGO:
Have you heard anything about Holden or Emma?

MARGO SHAKES HER HEAD.

FAITH:
Mom, it was a terrible accident.
Dad smashed the car up really good.

LILY:
Oh honey, things can always
be replaced. It's people that are
one of a kind.
As long as everyone comes out of this
alive and kicking, I'll be grateful.

MARGO:
Lily, I need to talk to you for a moment.

LILY LOOKS UP, CONCERNED:
What is it?

MARGO:
It's about Luke and Noah.

TELEPLAY

<FADE IN>

SCENE: THE OAKDALE MEDICAL CENTER

LILY IS HOLDING FAITH AND NATALIE AGAINST HER. MARGO IS
STANDING NEARBY, STILL HOLDING ETHAN.

LILY (CONCERNED):
What's wrong with Luke and Noah? Were they hurt too?

MARGO:
No, no... They're fine last I checked.
But I do need to tell you something.

LILY:
Alright.

MARGO:
Let's move away from Faith and Natalie.

LILY NODS AND GETS UP:
Stay here, girls. Watch Ethan. Okay, Faith?

FAITH NODS:
Why can't I hear what's going
on with Luke and Noah.

LILY:
I swear I'll tell you if its something you
need to hear, okay.

FAITH:
Okay.

FAITH TAKES ETHAN FROM MARGO.

MARGO HANDS THE BOOK SHE WAS READING TO NATALIE
WHO FLIPS THROUGH THE PAGES.

THEY TAKE A FEW STEPS AWAY FROM THE CHILDREN.

LILY (DEEPLY CONCERNED):
Margo, what's all this about?

MARGO:
Luke saw a prowler up there earlier tonight.
During the worse part of the storm.
And Officer Trenton, who I sent up there to
check on them... He's been found dead, shot.

LILY LIFTS A HAND TO HER THROAT,
SHAKING IN TERROR.

LILY (WHISPERING IN SHOCK):
No. Oh god, no.
I- It could have been Luke.. or Noah.

MARGO:
There's no reason to believe
that the prowler was after either
one of them. Luke saw him pretty close
and he wasn't attacked.

LILY:
But- Oh, Margo, you don't understand.
Luke and Noah – there have been threats.

MARGO:
Threats?

LILY:
Someone threw a rock through Noah's windshield
earlier this evening. It had a paper tied to it.
Noah's father is still threatening them!!

MARGO:
Lily, don't be ridiculous. Colonel Mayer is in prison.

LILY (DESPERATE):
Margo! Even though he's
in prison, he still somehow
has some influence in Oakdale.

MARGO:
You think he's masterminding this whole thing from behind bars.

LILY:
I don't know what to think, anymore, Margo.
I just want my sons to be safe and happy.

MARGO (SMILING):
You mean your son.

LILY:
Right. Luke.

MARGO:
You said sons plural.

LILY (FLUSTERED):
Margo, you know what I mean.

MARGO (NOW SERIOUS):
I do. And believe me, Lily,
I will do everything in my power to
keep them safe.

NOAH IS LOADING HOLDEN'S GUN. LUKE IS WATCHING HIM.
NOAH NOTICES LUKE'S CURIOUS GAZE.

NOAH:
Well, I had to do something on the bases when I got bored.
Besides watch old movies, I mean.
And we'd go hunting occasionally, too.

LUKE:
Yeah, dad takes me hunting sometimes.
But I'm a terrible shot.

NOAH:
Maybe we can practice sometime.

LUKE:
I'd just rather not deal with guns
at all, Noah. I mean – unless I have to.

NOAH LOOKS AT LUKE, CONCERNED.
THEN A SAD EXPRESSION COMES OVER HIS FACE.

NOAH:
Oh god... Luke, I forgot.
I'm sorry.

LUKE HOLDS UP HIS HANDS:
That's okay.

NOAH:
After everything my father's done to us...
I still keep forgetting that what he did to you-
what he tried to do to you-
it affected you in some ways it will take
a long time to understand.

LUKE:
I know that, Noah.
I don't want to worry about that now.

NOAH:
What do you want to do then?

LUKE LOOKS INTO NOAH'S EYES:
Be with you. Protect you. Love you.

NOAH SMILES THEN BECOMES SERIOUS AGAIN:
Well, I'm not sure what's going on out there, Luke.
These may be our last moments on earth.

LUKE LAUGHS:
Quit being so melodramatic. You're not good at it.

Luke!!! I need your help for a minute!

LUKE ENTERS FROM THE HOUSE.

LUKE:
Oh god, Jack. Did you get shot?

JACK (TRIES TO JOKE):
Are you kidding? He couldn't hit me even with those
night vision goggles. Hamesworth here wasn't so lucky.

NOAH FOLLOWS BEHIND LUKE, STILL HOLDING THE GUN:
Oh no. Where was he hit?

HAMESWORTH MANAGES TO LIFT HIS HEAD UP A BIT (HOARSELY):
Shoulder, and chest.

NOAH (CONCERNED):
Lung?

HAMESWORTH (SMILES IN PAIN):
Let's not go there.

JACK:
It's a good thing the paramedics are already on the way.

LUKE:
What about the.. um, the guy that did this to you.

JACK:
He's dead.
We're going to have a full
scale investigation up here, though.
Try to find out who this person was.
He looks like a member of an elite military unit.

HAMESWORTH (STILL IN PAIN):
Talk later.
Help now.

NOAH:
Right.

NOAH GOES BACK INSIDE TO PUT DOWN THE GUN THEN REEMERGES TO HELP
CARRY HAMESWORTH INSIDE.

SCENE: THE OAKDALE MEDICAL CENTER.

A HOSPITAL ROOM WITH EMMA AND HOLDEN ON BEDS, UNCONSCIOUS.
LILY IS HOLDING ETHAN. NATALIE AND FAITH ARE BY HER.
MARGO IS DOZING IN A CHAIR.

LILY LOOKS UP AS CHRIS ENTERS THE ROOM:
Will they be all right?

CHRIS:
It's hard to say. They've both lost a lot of blood.
Their injuries weren't that severe, but it took a while
to get emergency response out there. And Mrs. Snyder's
head wound is troubling me. Can I speak with you alone?

LILY NODS AND HANDS ETHAN TO FAITH.
SHE AND CHRIS TAKE A FEW STEPS AWAY FROM THE CHILDREN.

CHRIS:
Mrs. Snyder, Emma's suffered a severe blunt trauma to
the head. I'm worried that a piece of her skull might
have broken off. And if so, we'll need to operate.
As soon as I get the CAT scan results back, I can tell you more.

LILY:
Operate? On her brain?
Won't that be dangerous?

CHRIS:
Yes. It could be more dangerous not to, though.
Bone shrapnel can cause immense pain in the brain,
but more importantly, it can cut off life functions.

LILY MUTELY NODS.

LILY:
When you know something definite, let me know.

CHRIS NODS, CHECKS OFF ON THE CHARTS, AND LEAVES THE ROOM.

FAITH COMES UP TO LILY AND HANDS ETHAN BACK TO HER:
Is Grandma going to be okay, mom?

LILY HUGS FAITH WITH ONE ARM:
I hope so, sweetheart. I hope so.

SCENE: THE OAKDALE MEDICAL CENTER LOBBY

EMILY IS SITTING OPPOSITE DUSTY:
You know something...
about what the Snyders are going through.

DUSTY SHAKES HIS HEAD, SMILING:
No more than you.

EMILY:
Dusty, don't lie to me. I can read you like a book.

DUSTY:
I'm not that easy to read, Emily.
I wouldn't have gotten where I am
in investigative journalism if I had been.

EMILY (ACCUSING):
Fine, have it your way.
But I will find out what you're hiding about the Snyders.
There's just something about them
that you can't leave alone.

CHRIS BARGES INTO THE LOBBY:
Emily, darling. There you are.
I have more emergency room duty ahead of me.
A cop got shot up at the Snyder place.
Or two, rather, according to the coroner.

EMILY GLARES OVER AT DUSTY:
Know anything about that?

DUSTY SHRUGS:
Nope.

CHRIS NOTICES DUSTY:
I wouldn't be surprised if he did.
He's always snooping around. He knows
what goes on everywhere, or else
he makes up stuff if he doesn't.

DUSTY:
If you have a specific article you wish to denounce,
it would be nice to know what it is.

CHRIS HALF-LAUGHS:
I'll see you later, Emily.
Throw out the trash when you're done rifling
through it.

CHRIS AND EMILY KISS. CHRIS EXITS.

THE ELEVATOR DOORS OPEN

LUKE, NOAH AND JACK WALK THROUGH THE LOBBY.

JACK SEES EMILY:
I guess you've seen Chris around.

EMILY:
He just went down to the emergency room...
A cop-

LUKE:
Yeah, he got shot.

LUKE GLARES AT DUSTY:
What's he doing here?

EMILY:
The same thing he's always doing here...
prowling around and making accusations.

NOAH:
Mr. Donovan?

DUSTY LOOKS AT NOAH:
Noah.

NOAH:
Remember you told me you'd tell me
what was going on.

DUSTY:
Would you believe me
if I did?

NOAH:
I'd like to think I can,
Mr. Donovan. I-I thought
you cared for Mrs. Snyder.

LUKE:

DUSTY:
There was a car accident.

LUKE (DEJECTED):
Oh no... Were they hurt badly?

EMILY:
Come on, I'll take you to them.
Your mom's up there.

EMILY GETS UP AND TRIES TO PUT A HAND OUT ON
LUKE'S SHOULDER.
LUKE SPINS AWAY.

LUKE (DISORIENTED):
I can find it myself. Just – what room are they in?

EMILY:
320.

NOAH REACHES OUT AND GRABS LUKE'S HAND.
LUKE SEEMS TO BE REELING.

OK, I am doing it again.

Here is the latest blog Van does for the CBS website, he did it right after he completed his run of Die Mommie Die

Quote
January 14, 2008: "Die Momma Die"
So I was going to start this blog like I feel I've started every blog within the last six months; by apologizing for how few and far between my blogs are. But then I was like, screw it. It's the New Year! I will blog when I want to blog! Quality, not quantity, right?

These last few months have been really amazing for me. Tonight I finished my run of Charles Busch's "Die Mommie Die!" at New World Stages here in New York City. This is my first long running theater job ever (110 performances- I only called out once!) I got my equity card, and I sort of, as actorish as it may sound, rediscovered my roots. I remember when I graduated school, I was all set on moving to Los Angeles instead of New York, I was going to sign with an agent in California. I was in my hotel room in Los Angeles and Letterman came on. You know how when he goes to commercial, there are shots of the streets of New York? I saw that and I sort of knew that I couldn't live in Los Angeles without hitting up New York first. The next morning I called my parents and told them that I changed my mind - I wanted to go to New York; I wanted to do theater. I signed a contract with an agency here in the city and I packed up and moved to lower Manhattan. I was going to get my start in theater! However, life doesn't happen the way you plan it. Instead I was a waiter for almost a year, then I was lucky enough to get ATWT.

AS THE WORLD TURNS was my first professional job in the city and it was on television. The irony was never lost on me. I chose not to go to Los Angeles for theater and I end up on television instead. I'm not complaining, I have learned so much on the soap and would love to continue on television for a long long time. I would have been lying if I said I didn't miss the stage. "So Die Mommie Die!" was truly a gift. To work with Charles was a gift as well. The whole experience was something I will hold so close to my heart. One thing that I really appreciate is how many ATWT fans came to see the show. That really means alot to me. One woman drove from Texas to come see me. A couple of fans threw comic books on the stage for me. I got a kick ass Spiderman tee shirt from a fan! So I want to just say thank you to everyone who came out to support me.

Speaking of fans, the people over on vanhansis.net created a donation for Broadway Cares/Equity fights AIDS in Jake and my names. They have raised over $6,000 dollars! That is amazing. Kindness of that magnitude baffles me. I really don't have any words to express how grateful I am. They created the account because in my previous post I had complained about how I didn't really dig the holiday season. This changes things. I mean it. I am so humbled by people making donations in my name. I know Jake feels the same way. I am writing for both of us in saying thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Happy New Year and all the best!
