Thank you, Dagi! Was this a good book? Three Bags Full ?

I'll repeat this one and see if anyone remembers it:

Here's one from Jr. High: **Dan and Ann are main characters in this book.**
"Gettin' tired of your dumbass missin'!"

Three Bags Full was fun to read, but it's certainly not a must, and it's certainly overrated. But if you want to read light stuff and have fun, it's okay.

My new question is a quote:

"Love was an emotion through which you occasionally enjoyed yourself. It can not do things."

( A statement that in the end turned out to not be the truth.  :))

From which novel is that quote?

According to Google  ;D, it's from 'Maurice' by E.M. Forster.
'We're supposed to guard the sheep, not eat 'em'

Hey!  ;D  I've read 'Maurice', only, it was about twenty years ago. I couldn't remember that quote.   ;)

'It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.'

That is from A prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving.

Seems to be a great book!  ;) I think I put it on my list...

If you love it, I should definitely read it. So far I´ve loved the books you said you loved...

Okay, now I have a question about the book that has been lying on my desk for some time now and is still waiting to be finished, although it is really brilliant and pure joy to read...(but sometimes one is just not in the mood to read, or one has found something even better to read... ;D).

And no, Gary, you are not allowed to guess this time, that would be too easy!  ;)

In which novel does a man called Uncle Pete give advice as to the exact time when a man and a woman should have sexual intercourse in order to get a girl?

This line was carved into my soul, although I knew how the story would end...but I so felt with Maurice at this point. It is still hard to bear to watch Alec leave the hotel room, although I've watched the movie about a million times.

I knew that one!  :)  "The smallest person I ever knew" tipped me off.

Here's one - probably too easy:

"Christmas won't be Christmas without any presents"
