I think it is meant to be a sign of deep affection. After all you feed them so they are trying to feed you. My previous cats used to bring all kinds of things to the door and then when I got a cat door they brought things inside. It was rather gross!!! That is one reason Code lives inside. I would prefer that he not bring me things like that. I think he and I are better off not eating weird things like that anyway  ;)
