Happy Humpday, everyone!

My house is in the newspaper today. Over the last days, we had our annual village fair. Yes, the onion horse had another appearance.
With the fair, there's always a run over several distances, depending on age and athletic status. The start-banner is always fixed at our gate, so that's how our house got in the paper.

Funny thing my daughter told me: the C-youth section of her handball club won fifty bottles of alcohol-free beer. Kids in C-youth are 13 to 14 years old.
We sure get them used to it early.

Seriously, I think there must have been some mistake, I don't think they planned it like that. Still funny.

I have a job!

Whoo-Hoo! I'm so happy right now.
Today I worked on appro at a day nursery for 1 to 3 year old children. And they want me to work for them!
The age group 1 to 3 year olds is not something I would have sought out; I rather would have seen me working with elementary school kids or teens. But after having been there for one day I have to say I really liked it. For now I'm just damn happy.

I don't know yet if I'll be working two days or three days a week. Depends on how many hours my boss gets granted from her boss. It'll be either 15 hours/two days or 20 hours/three days. Both would be fine with me.

That's what my dictionary said for the German word I gave it.
It means to work somewhere during the job application process. The employer doesn't only rely on a job interview with you, but also wants to see you in the actual workplace for a while, so they can get a better idea if you fit with the job and the existing team.
Maybe working "on probation" would be the better word choice? The dictionary gave me that one, too. But it sounds a little bit like a criminal set free on probation, lol. Thus I decided on the other version.
The German word would be "hospitieren".
