Morning all,

A chilly 22 degrees to start the day...

Brrr. I thought of you this morning. We had temperatures around the freezing point. Always the friggin cold, I hate it! The windshield on my car was frosted  (but we took the bikes anyway, so I didn't have to scrape it off).
However, I thought that it was just as cold here as it is in Maine, judging from your weather reports the last days. It's very unsusual for my region to have freezing temperatures in mid-April.


I'm so sick of winter. I.Want.Spring. !!!

And the thing that is odd is that we changed the clocks so early this year, it is light way into the evening, so it feels like it should be warmer than it is. Yesterday, the sky was bright blue and it looked like a perfect spring day, but the temperature was only in the high 30s.

Like you, Chrissi, I am sick of winter and ready for warm weather!

I got way behind the times with this thread.  So catching up all in one post:

Prayers for your uncle, David.  And congratulations on your 5000+ posts.

I've never heard of Godfriday, but it did make me think of both Arthur Godfrey, and the Godfather.

As for "motive," I agree it was misused in English, but I understood, comparing it to "leitmotif."  So the theme, or maybe the pattern.

And a very belated hug to my posting twin Atreyu.

We did call bacon "speck" in my father und stiefmutter's, and "schinken" was ham.

And Happy Retirement, Roland.  I look forward to your garden photos even more now.
