You do Germany proud by being so generous in offering Spain warm congratulations, Chrissi.  :)


Congratulations to both Spain and Germany, say I - the championship this time around was of extremely high quality with many outstanding teams and matches, and getting to the finals was a huge feat by both teams!  :)

Personally I was rather thrilled that Turkey got all the way to the semi-finals. I'd much rather have people jumping for joy over their country's European soccer feats than jumping blindly at the order of some benighted imam or mullah.  :-\

I'm not particularly interested in soccer myself, though I do watch matches now and then in the European and World cup. Nevertheless it's impossible to see something like this and not be amazed and overwhelmed at what a huge, huge event this is.... so many people gearing up for the final, dressing up, extreme anticipation building.... there was talk on German TV of a whole "party mile" by Brandenburger Tor.  And both the Spanish King and Mrs. Merkel attending the game in person!

64 degrees and another foggy day here! It was sunny for a few hours yesterday, then horrendous thunderstorms in the evening. We'll see what's in store for today.
