Morning all,

Another nice day in Basel with sun and a pleasant temperature. My widget says 12 but I think it is warmer than that.

I am still not sleeping well (jet lag is a bitch!) but I am going to take it easy today. I have a lecture at noon and then I am done so I think I might have a nice lunch and a NAP. Hopefully that will get me over the lingering sleep problems and weird dreams.

I had a good day at the University yesterday and I am sure today will be the same!

Before we moved here permanantly, we were back and forth several times sorting out various things.We found the best way to get over jetlag,flying from America to europe, was to go to bed for 3-4 hours when we arrived.Then get up have the rest of the day as normal and maybe go to bed slightly later than usual,but only slightly.

That way your body clock has a few hours sleep at the time it is used to and you seem to get on track quicker that way. I did not find the problem so bad going the other way.
So next time you fly to Europe try it.You miss a few hours of your trip, but feel much better for the rest of it.

What language do they speak in Basel Leslie? I'm guessing by the name of the town they speak French. Or maybe French and German. I know the official languages of Switzerland are German, French and Italian. And don't they also have a language of their own which is also official? An Alpine language? I'm not sure what it is actually called but I think many people refer to it as "Swiss". Maybe I should google Switzerland and find out!

I think so Artiste. German, French, Italian, and "Swiss" which (I think) is a language unique to some of the Alpine countries in Europe.
