Another beautiful day in Denver...45 degrees as I was driving in to work.

Our friend Pete in Boston scheduled a trip here to see us and get some rays. I hope this can hold up until he arrives at the end of the month!

Pennsylvania Germans don't get scurvy. That's why we eat all that sauerkraut--rich in vitamin C.  :D

Well, Friend, it'll be 50 degrees and sunny in Boston by Sunday.

I think you mean rickets (lack of Vitamin D and sunlight), not scurvy.  Plus, we got gin and tonic with lime for that.

Make mine a double. That should take care of malaria and scurvy both!

S'posed to be 52 F or 56 F in Philadelphia on Sunday, depending on whom you listen to or believe.

You Easterners should be pawing the white out of the full moon, then!! Or maybe I should be calling you Limeys!!

I had a run-in with gin and tonic a few years ago when my husband became brand director for Beefeaters'. I was ordered to drink martinis in the winter and gin and tonics in the summer. I got out of it by getting pregnant. I am strictly a wine-and-whiskey drinker!! Well, coffee, chai, and Arnie's these days, since I'm giving up the hard stuff for Lent.

Gin and tonic (quinine water) made the British Empire possible.

Whut's "Arnie's"?

I love the flavor of gin... so, I'm a fan of both gin and tonics and gin martinis.  I think gin martinis are much more flavorful than vodka.

Arnie's are a drink named after a fellow Pennsylvanian, Arnold Palmer. They are half iced tea and half lemonade.

Amanda, I prefer gin martinis to vodka martinis, but if you HAVE to drink a martini whether you want to or not, it loses its appeal. Espcecially if you forget to order it with a twist! Then it's really lost its appeal! I think that olive very well without it!!  ::) Okay, I'll stop now!

I much prefer gin martinis. No doubt about it.
