[Announcement] Revised User Agreement & Privacy Policy
« on: January 15, 2008, 04:30:19 pm »
BetterMost will be introducing a Privacy Policy to our User Agreement shortly to quickly define how information disclosed to us as part of the registration process is and is not used.  Additionally, if and when major community policies change, it will be important to make sure every resident is fully informed of any changes and have the opportunity to read, understand, and agree to them.  Therefore, when a significant policy change is enacted, all residents will be presented with a copy of the revised User Agreement/Privacy Policy (just as they were when they registered for an account here).  All residents will need to read and agree to the policy changes before proceeding forward.

As a quick preview of the Privacy Policy, since we do not ask for any identifiable information from residents except a valid e-mail address, we do not collect any information to disclose to third parties in the first place.  And e-mail addresses are not sold to third parties for any reason.

You will have to agree to proceed forward.  There are no rule changes in the upcoming launch of this feature, so if you are a satisfied resident now, you will not have anything to worry about when you re-agree.  I strongly advocate for as few rules as possible around here other than the no personal attack one, which is our One Commandment.

The Privacy Policy is being introduced in compliance with new state guidelines governing online communities.  The draft has been written and is under minor revision right now to address some minor grammar issues.  It will be published by the end of the weekend.

A copy of both will be in the Town Hall sub-forum at all times, which anyone is free to comment on.
