Fictional characters Benton and Race Quest-Bannon celebrated the 45th anniversary of their domestic partnership yesterday (the couple were recently officially married in Toronto).
In a re-commitment ceremony, held aboard a hydroplane in the Sargasso Sea, the Quest-Bannons reaffirmed their enduring love for one another and exchanged rings. A laser light show followed. Dinner was later held in Egypt at the Temple of Anubis.
In attendance were their two sons Jon and Hadji, along with both their fictional spouses. Also in attendance were the Quest-Bannon's six fictional grandchildren.
Dr. Benton Quest-Bannon is a retired research scientist who met his partner Race Bannon while doing scientific investigation and research in the 1960s. A retired fitness instructor and professional bodyguard, Race Bannon quest also helped to home school their adopted children. The Quest-Bannons travelled the world investigating mysteries together, and battled nefarious villains from around the world. The Quest-Bannons helped in the apprehension of the notorious Dr. Zin, who mastermined an attack on military research facilities in the 1960s using a one-eyed robotic spy in a flying spacecraft. The Quest-Bannons also helped to end puzzling attacks by an invisible monster that terrorized a research facility.
A joint statement released by the Quest-Bannons read:
"To live our lives openly like this when we first met seemed an unimaginable dream. Today, we are proud that we can live our lives openly together as a couple. We thank both our sons for the love and support they have shown us through these years. In every way, our lives together have been a magnificent and thrilling adventure! Our only regret is that our dog Bandit was unable to be here."
