Where Do Your Pets Sleep??
« on: October 08, 2008, 12:14:29 am »
My horse sleeps in his stall of course.......and the dogs have assorted beds all over. We only bring them in when the weather is bad.

the cats sleep with us though. Cry baby stretches out on my right side and I put an arm around him...

sometimes he tries to sleep on my LEFT between me and Don...and then he turns on his side and tries to push Don away from me with his feet!

Milly is sweet and non pushy...she curls up at my feet. (unless my son and his bf are home, then she sleeps with them)

Both my pets sleep with me in my bed. I sleep on my side and Cody likes to sleep in the bend of my legs. He slowly works his way up the bed during the night. The cat sleeps on the pillow next to me and he purrs me to sleep. He purrs very loudly for such a small cat. :)

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

Well........our birds sleep in their cages on the verandah. Every night I go out and say "time for bed" and cover their cages, and say "good night".

Our fish sleep in their tank, and they know its bed time, because we turn off the aquarium light.

Our dog, is a Marema, a dog bred to guard small stock. We are his flock, and once we are both in bed, he positions himself on the floor beside the bed and does not leave us until we get up in the morning.

My kitties USED to sleep with me.  But now they have well and truly adopted Mom and Chris, so they sleep on one or both of their beds.  Night before last, I dreamed Titania was sleeping on my chest and licking my chin....woke up, no kitty in sight.  :( 8)

I don't have a pet at present but hope to get a little dog or two when I retire.

I had a German Shepherd when I was a child. Because she was so large, my parents insisted that she sleep outside. And in those days (the 1950s) it was generally accepted that dogs should sleep outside. However, more times than not, after my parents had gone to bed, I'd smuggle her in with me. I slept on the verandah, so it was easy for me to do.

Ha ha Kerry, I remember doing a similar thing, when I was a child.

I actually used to let the dog sleep under the sheets down on my feet. How the poor thing didn't suffocate is beyond me.

My cat used to not get into the bedroom at night but after his brother died, we relented for a while and kept the bedroom door open - ofcourse now we can't get him ioff the bed at night.. he just waits till we're aslepp and then hopes on - always at the bottom of the bed on MY side.. never Callum's  - which is well annoying cos I can't move my feet!!

Our old cat we had, lived till he was nearly twenty.

As he got older his bladder was weaker so used to want to go outside a lot more to pee. So we took the fly screen off our bedroom window, and always left the window open, summer or winter, and he would sleep on the end of our bed, but be able to make an exit when nature called, then come back in to the comfort of our bed.
