This is some crazy ass bullshit!

Yeah. That's what I thought. The Vatican is a separate country and has no power over Rome. Rome is in Italy which is a different COUNTRY.
This is an example of the Catholic Church once again meddling in the affairs of those they do not agree with. And they will do anything and everything in their power - apparently even illegally - in order to achieve their ends.
