I do not recall seeing this discussed here before,  if you have a few minutes please take time to read about a couple who had a sweet life, and what happened to them:

Yes, Shakes, this is a tragic story...it was posted back on IMDb back when it first came out but it is a good reminder for everyone. Thanks for reminding us again.

Oh dear, what a tragic story.....makes you sick that laws arent there to protect people like Sam......its is so damn wrong.

Trying to find a positive, (like I always do)....thank god, they had a good life together, at least no one took that away from them....
Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfection

I actually caught this when it was posted on IMDb and used it in class with my 17-year-old pupils this year (I teach English). It did make them think, and even made a few realize that the very widespread (in France too) anti-gay marriage feeling is wrong. I think it is real-life examples like in this article that can make mentalities evolve.
Thanks for posting it here!

It really is sad, and all too real,  so sorry that they didn't go see a real lawyer and get their wills drawn up the way that would have stood up anywhere.  very sad.
