That is beautiful C., and a LOT of work.  :) Your niece will look adorable swaddled in it.

Fantastic work on the quilt, Clarissa.

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!

Oh god, it hit me, it has hit me now.

Well, he won't have to go alone.

That's for sure Truman!

It is a lovely quilt, something she'll be able to keep and treasure. Maybe even use it for her own daughter, some day.  :)

I remember that too. At first I thought his name was Lee because of his screen name. Before long I learned his name was Rich, although I often called him Richard. He didn't seem to care. In fact he signed on of his Christmas cards as Richard. In the other card he used the name Rich. :)

I called him both Richard and Rich and I still do. I asked him about it one time and he said either was fine.

C, I'm glad at least one of us was productive this weekend.  That quilt is quite a feat, and it's a precious gift that will last a lifetime for your niece.

It may be hard for you to look at it now, as attached as it is to this weekend and the sad passing of Rich.  But I think eventually you will feel good about having made it at this time.

hugs,
Judy

Thanks everyone, I do feel good that the quilt is entwined with Rich.  He was such a devoted father.  I loved and admired that about him a great deal.

The quilt is gorgeous, Clarissa - I agree with what everyone has said - it's nice that you have memories of Rich attached to it.

Tonight I took out my hardback copy of Brokeback Mountain to read the story aloud to Ronny, who has only seen the film.  Some of you may remember this book - I toted it around and got autographs until it was rained on earlier this year and then I retired it.  I could still throttle that landlord and his leaky roof over this.

Ronny did have the good idea that we should scan all the pages with autographs so as not to lose them.

Anyhow, when I opened it, the first thing that jumps out at me and catches my eye inside the front cover is this big signature "Rich".

 :'(

Here's what he wrote - punctuation, capitalization, and line placement are exact.

"Lynne,
What a Joy it has been getting to know you.
This ain't no little thing ya know!
Look forward to many more years of good times.

I really hate that he doesn't have those more years.
