Not gonna answer all the questions but:

1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?

Major renovations to the house.

2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I never make any. Don't think of it as a once a year plan. In 2011 I tried (and succeeded) in getting rid of my 200 grams/day potato chip habit. but that was not a year end resolution. Resolutions should be when you're ready to go for it. Can't say I've made any this past year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

no

4. Did anyone close to you die?

no

5. What countries did you visit?

didn't travel

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Learning to spend savings. I renovated the house without borrowing.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

knock on wood - no

11. What was the best thing you bought?

a HDTV

14. Where did most of your money go?

renovations, including spa-like bath room and 6 000 $ worth of new drapes

15.What made you really really really excited?

watching live events for the first time in almost a decade ... election returns, Olympics

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?  same, I think
b) thinner or fatter?   same, I think - maybe a little heavier
c) richer or poorer?     poorer - cause I spent a chunk of my savings. But my house has probably increased in value, so maybe i'm richer. Who knows. I'm not hurting.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

As usual, I'm heading north (by plane this time) to Timmins and my sibblings. One of my brothers will be there (at Christmas) for the first time in a long while.

21. How will you be spending New Year's?

no plans. Probably spend it alone at home as per usual.

22. Did you fall in love in 2012?

no

23. How many one-night stands?

none

24. What were your favorite TV programs?

I'm still enamoured by The West Wing but I've picked up a few other DVD collections and enjoyed Six Feet Under and Mad Men

26. What was the best book you read?

I have enjoyed reading The Hunger Game trilogy

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

A 1984 song I don't remember ever hearing before ... Only You by the Flying Pickets

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

nothing - I became (in some people's viewpoints) a senior. I'm 60

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?

I'm gradually moving away from t-shirts and jeans to western style shirts and jeans

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

the prospect of our lame-duck-worst-ever mayor getting turfed out of office.

37. Who did you miss?

I think of my late parents more often than I thought I would.

40. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012:

I'm losing hope in my liberal belief and seeing economics, and therefore big buisiness or THE COPORATE WORLD controls just about everything. Rather depressing!
2015 - Toronto: Pan Am Games
2015 - Edmonton, Montréal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Winnipeg: Woman's World Cup of Soccer
