STOP THE PRESSES!!

Very new, dated May 4 2016--the fan artist PAWSPAINTSNTHINGS is taking things into his/her own hands (I think it's a her--Hayley, maybe?)--and has decided to do a VERY artistic comic based on Jack's famously momentous Fourth of July visit last Summer (2015) to Bitty's parent's house in Madison, GA. Things are heating up!!

What does "to chirp" mean in the case of the panel "Don't you chirp me Jack Zimmermann!"? I've never heard that before.

Jack is not used to the Georgia heat.

While drawing this, I was thinking about the first time I visited my now-husband, then-totally-platonic-friend about 10 years ago. We lived in different countries and had only talked online until then. It was during a heat wave and I am also from The North and was not used to that kind of humidity, which contributed to my extremely fuzzy state of mind during that whole week. I was completely unable to think. Also weirdly kinda attracted to this dude and wtf, that had literally never happened before. Anyway stuff was pretty weird for a long time and it was really nothing like Bitty and Jack’s story but I was channeling some of those memories here. Mind-melting heat and the confusing/exhilarating potential of a new relationship?
