Why The Dark Knight is a Modern Masterpiece
A 10 Year Anniversary Retrospect - Film Review

Luke Hearfield
Published on Aug 5, 2018

Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight  turned 10 years old this July and has earned itself its status as a 'Modern Masterpiece'. With a decade-defining performance from Heath Ledger as The Joker which bagged him an Oscar and whole other bunch of factors that I admire. It's effect can be felt in more recent superhero films like Logan  and Black Panther  and has transcended from more than mere popcorn escapism . Be sure to check it out my video to find out why it's become such a legendary piece of cinema.

If you half-remember having heard of Luke Hearfield before, about ten months ago, this is why:

FYI, watch this young gay Brit's review of Call Me By Your Name --he saw it one of the screenings at the London Film Festival--he's funny AND he loved the movie, VERY articulate (as many Brits are).

Luca Guadagnino's sun-drenched love story is a spell-binding piece of art. It's gonna be an awards-contender but it's also a genuinely touching film that will resonate with anyone whose ever been in love. Go and see it! Check out my full thoughts here.

  • A city boy's mentality, with a cowboy's soul.
Heath was amazing as the Joker!   There were things he did in that movie that made me cringe.

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!
