Happy New Year

Happy Celtic New Year, that is! Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival that fell on the night of October 31st, and from which our modern Halloween celebrations derive, marked the beginning of the ancient Celtic year.

My New Year bash was a dud, by the way. Got home late to a quiet home, though my sister had made a killer jack o' lantern that provided appropriately spooky decoration for our front porch. Proceeded to do much needed laundry, and caught the very end of The Abominable Dr. Phibes on Turner Classic Movies, before retiring to bed. Ah well...maybe next year!

 ;)
