An environmental question
« on: November 06, 2006, 09:02:46 pm »
I'm seriously wondering:  Is it better to leave your car (or SUV that's so large it has its own atmosphere) idling while you drop your child off at preschool - i.e., actually exit the car, leave it in park, and escort your child in - or to turn it completely off, like I do, and restart it when you're ready to go?

Seriously - does anyone know in terms of carbon monoxide type emissions which is more egregious?

I can't believe the number of parents who do this at Will's preschool each morning and night.  I mean, it's not so hot out now that you can't bear to have to restart the A.C. after five minutes.  Are they just plain lazy and oblivious and stupid, or are they doing it the right way and I'm the stupid one?
No more beans!
