I have been trying to figure out what it means.

It's Dutch, Geri. It's a curse word. That's why I loved it when I saw it in Melissa's answer. I don't know why, but I thought it was cute.

It loosely means "F*cking hell" (or something along those lines) in English.

My Grandpa taught me some of those words years ago. haha.

Maybe Melissa can translate it better for you!  :)

Well, actually "Verdoemen" is Dutch for "damn" (also "vloeken"). So, yes Geri, you are correct!

MELISSA, HELP ME OUT HERE!!!!

My Dutch is pretty bad these days. But when spoken, it is more harsh than "God Damn". My Dutch grandpa taught me it means "Fucking Hell" or something like that.

I also remember I had to suck on a bar of soap when I said these words. It didn't matter if I said them in Dutch or English. If I said them, my Mom made me suck on soap. So I quickly learned not to say them..... at least in front of my Mother! lol

My Grandpa was so cool!  8)

He told me all kinds of things!  :)

If  I remember correctly "Damn" or God Damn" is  "verrek" in Dutch.

Mijn Nederlands is slecht, Geri!  :D

My Dutch is really bad these days. But I do remember "Godverdomme" was a BAAAAD WORD!! haha. My Mom didn't like it, and she didn't speak much Dutch. (My Dutch heritage comes from my paternal side of the family). Like I said, maybe Melissa can help us out on the EXACT translation.

You didn't put me on the spot Geri!  :D

It means "My Dutch is bad"!!

And it is, unfortunately. I would have been much better at this 20 or 30 years ago!  :(
