Ok...am trying to be brave and share the little bits and pieces I have written ....since being so moved by BBM...

they are simple ...but hold fragments of my heart....so tread gently...and I hope it gives you a few pleasant moments.....

enjoy

Poem "Face on a Screen"
« Reply #1 on: April 13, 2006, 01:02:21 am »
"The Face on the Screen"

How is it possible for me
 to feel
the face crying on the screen
 is of someone so real

as you cry , shed those tears
 so come mine too
 buried
 for all these years

 You cry for Ennis
 and I weep too
 part of my pain
up on the screen there with you

 And when your eyes
 sparkle
and a grin lights your face
 I almost feel,
  love is never a waste

 Your stuggle,
 your pain
 magically now mine too
Jack, thank you for letting my heart
 find a home
 within you.

Poem "If Tomorrow "
« Reply #2 on: April 13, 2006, 01:03:46 am »
If Tomorrow

If I hold you
Close
Just for tonight
Will you promise me this

To be part of
All
Your tomorrows
If tomorrows exist

If I whisper
Close into
Your ear
sounds of my heart
will it last thorugh
the years
even years spent apart

If  my body is yours
Every part of my self
If I give you it all
Till there is nothing
Left

Will you promise me
That you will hold
In your heart
That part of me given
If ever we part

If I told you
I love you
Give no reason why
Will you treat this love
Gently
If you say goodbye

Give me a reason
Just one to believe
If tomorrows come
You could never leave

Poem "Being Jack"
« Reply #4 on: April 13, 2006, 01:05:14 am »
Being Jack

Bruised , battered
Hated , used
A love ,shared
A heart abused

Time heals ,mends
Scars, unseen
Until they move
paper to screen

Building walls ,setting traps
Should those who wound ever chose to come back
One day I find that you have crept in
In an old black truck
into my sin

A smile,that twinkle
A laugh ,grin
Eyes shading sorrow
Deeply locked in

Lets have drink
Just you and me
If I explain
Maybe you'll see

I am Jack
I chose to be me
To Love, my way
To set myself free

Hiding away
Trying to flee
From what is love
Hurts only me

Believe,you must
Try, see
If you cant love no other
Why not just start with me

Your eyes, so honest
intent so true
Maybe I will believe
Just one time in you

You hold my hand
share with me
to love may mean dying
even dying to me

Living outside
of my flesh each day
risking my lover
may walk away

But if he stays
what hope there could be
then you will know
your heart's been set free

It exists now
outside of you
one broken spirt
joins another,renewed

When life ends
and you, gone
the love two have shared
forever lives on

Walls now dismantled
The light streams in
You destroyed, Jack
My prison within.

Poem "If I could"
« Reply #5 on: April 13, 2006, 01:07:56 am »
This was written and dedicated to Nancy and her dear friend Everett.

If I could.....

If I could somehow
bundle up
My heart
just throw it away
ar into some
forgotten ocean

I would

Cos then I wouldn't  hurt so much
Ache
so much
Miss you
so  very much

I  would be able to go on
To laugh at silly jokes
To get excited about life
To
 just
 go
 on

To go on
not
see your face in
everything
everyone
In the whispers of the wind
colours dawn brings

Why do they all lead back
to you
Why…why?
Is your spirt felt in every grin
I see
every smile

Why do I hear
your voice
Suddenly break through
the crowds
Or walk behind someone
who looks
just like you

Those moments
seize up my heart
Catch my breath
tear at my soul
Why are you always
there

If I could bind up my heart
And toss it into some sea
I would
But I cant
Cos you exist in the sea too
in each drop of water
each salty spray taken
on the breeze

Maybe, My love….. maybe
You try desparately
to tell me

You never ever
did leave

Poem " What I miss "
« Reply #6 on: April 13, 2006, 01:10:27 am »
What I miss

I miss the sound of your breathing
In the night
To softly touch you
Hold you tight

I miss the sound of your laugh
The silent grin
The way your eyes dance
As you come in

I miss the scent of you
As you pass me by
That scent of a man
For whom I would die

I miss the sound of your heart beating
When you hold me to your chest
That place so secure
Where no fear can rest

I miss the feel of your hand
On the back of my neck
The gentle lean in
Another kiss to take

I miss how you taste
How soft your lips are
The feel of your breath
That draws me afar

I miss your eyes
As they look at me
Pools of  blue
In eternity

I miss your voice
Low and gentle to me
Whispers of love
That set my heart free

Of all that I miss
All that is you
How can one heart go on
In this world meant for two

I was wrong about the signature poem. It's not Rumi.

Thought I might share this one though, since I dug out the book to look for it.

The Mythical Lover
by Rumi

My love for you
has driven me insane

I wander aimlessly
the ruins of my life
my old self a stranger to me

Because of your love
I have broken with my past

My longing for you
keeps me
in this moment
My passion
gives me courage

I look for you
in my innermost being

I used to read
the myths of love
Now I have become
the mythical lover
Why do we consume what we consume?
Why do we believe what we believe?
Why do we accept what we accept?
You have a body, a mind, and a soul.... You have a responsibility.

I know this was posted awhile ago, but thank you for this. I am Jack as well- and this describes the feelings quite exquistely.
Who cares where we go on this rugged old road- in a world that may say that we're wrong?
