Hi Marl,

Chapter 5 was a heartbreaker.  I could have cried when she offered to pay for a motel room and when Billy never even looked at her.  Cassie is in such desperate need of guidance.  Sigh.  And you've also given us a reminder of what a cold, cruel world high school can be.

Cassie surprised me at the end - good for her! - but I'm wondering where she goes from there.

Thanks,
Marie

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that Chapters 6 and 7 are now both up.

If you are new, I do admit this is different than other Fan Fiction. I so do hope that you give it a try.

If you have been reading, I do hope you enjoy these chapters.

Hi Marl,

Nice chapters.  Poor Cassie.  I knew it was coming - but I wasn't sure how - I guess I still don't know exactly how.

I liked how you conveyed in a lot of little ways how young these characters still are.  Their hormones and emotions are beyond their wisdom and experience - as was true for all of us.  I'm curious as to what will happen next.

Thanks,
Marie

Hey, Marl

Poor Cassie again. That line  -“Just once “she said very softly, almost to herself. “Just once someone should tell me before that they are gonna leave.” - was just so sad.  She must feel so rejected, even though it's not Sam's fault.  Cassie's trying to fill up all those empty places inside her and trying to make sure she doesn't get hurt again - but, of course, she's just making herself more unhappy even if she can't admit it to herself. I guess I'll have to wait for the next chapter to learn about Cliff.

Looking forward to more.

Thanks,
Marie

Marl,
Just read your story, and wanted to say how very much I liked it. For all Cassie's flamboyance when we first see her in the movie, that was just surface, and you really get that across, telling her story from her point of view. She's such a gentle, hopeful soul. Very believable. I'm really looking forward to more.

(Right now its mixed in by date with my other story on LJ. I guess I will have to get another account and repost, unless there is some day to sort by title, not the date, but I wanted to get it posted since it has been awhile. Sorry about that)

Hey, Marl -

Glad to see an update!

SPOILER

Well, I guess I learned about Cliff.   >:(  I'm glad Cassie ran into Mr. Allen - sometimes just a few encouraging words from someone we trust and respect can be life-changing.

But the ending left me feeling leery:

Cassie didn’t plan on going with anyone new any time soon.  She didn't plan on it despite how much she still wanted to.

Hmm... well, we know what can happen to plans.  You've got a great handle on Cassie, Marl.  Looking forward to more!

Thanks,
Marie
