Hey Fuzzy! I'm Nicky (Saucycobblers), not Kelda! ;D

My total bad!! So sorry!! I've really lost track with this place! Please accept my apologies!
I've learnt that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in!

Probably already been posted, but I've just been listening to it and it's SO appropriate! One of my all time favourites...

'If You Leave Me Now' by Chicago (one or two words slightly doctored for effect!)

If you leave me now, youll take away the biggest part of me
No baby please dont go
If you leave me now, youll take away the very heart of me
No baby please dont go

A love like ours is love thats hard to find
How could we let it slip away
Weve come too far to leave it all behind
How could we end it all this way
When tomorrow comes well both regret
Things we said today

A love like ours is love thats hard to find
How could we let it slip away
Weve come too far to leave it all behind
How could we end it all this way
When tomorrow comes well both regret
Things we said today

If you leave me now, youll take away the biggest part of me
No baby please dont go
Oh boy, just got to have you by my side

No baby, please dont go

Oh boy, I just got to have your lovin, yeah

Weve come too far to leave it all behind
Will you stop playing with that radio of yours, I'm trying to get to sleep!

Just heard this on the radio for the first time in a while at lunch today and can't believe I never thought of it before:

In Too Deep ~ Phil Collins

All that time I was searching with nowhere to run to, it started me thinking,
Wondering what I could make of my life, and who'd be waiting,
Asking all kinds of questions to myself, but never finding the answers,
Crying at the top of my voice, and no one listening.
All this time, I still remember everything you said
There's so much you promised, how could I ever forget?

Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this,
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps,
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this,
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep.

So listen, listen to me,
Ooh you must believe me,
I can feel your eyes go through me,
But I don't know why.

Ooh I know you're going, but I can't believe
It's the way that you're leaving -
It's like we never knew each other at all - it may be my fault,
I gave you too many reasons for being alone, when I didn't want to
I thought you'd always be there, I almost believed you.
All this time, I still remember everything you said,
There's so much you promised, how could I ever forget?

Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this,
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps,
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this,
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep.

So listen, listen to me,
I can feel your eyes go through me

It seems I've spent too long
Only thinking about myself
Now I want to spend my life
Just caring about somebody else.

You know I love you, but I just can't take this,
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps,
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this,
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep.
No more beans!

Wow, and then there's this one, also by Genesis, and written by Phil Collins.  I'm beginning to wonder just how much experience he has in this area and thinking that if he hasn't yet, I bet he'd be a Brokie if he's seen the film.

Throwing it all Away ~ Phil Collins

Need I say I love you
Need I say I care
Need I say that emotions
Are something we don't share?
I don't want to be sitting here
Trying to deceive you
Cause you know I know better
And I don't wanna go.

We cannot live together
We cannot live apart
That's the situation
I've known it from the start
Every time that I look at you
I can see the future
Cause you know I know better
And I don't wanna go.

Throwing it all away
Throwing it all away
Is there nothing that I can say
To make you change your mind?

I watch the world go round and round
And see mine turning upside down
You're throwing it all away.

Now who will light up the darkness
Who will hold your hand
Who will find you the answers
When you don't understand?
Why should I have to be the one
Who has to convince you?
Cause you know I know better
And I don't wanna go.

Someday you'll be sorry
Someday when you're free
Memories will remind you
That our love was meant to be.
Late at night when you call my name
The only sound you'll hear
Is the sound of your voice calling
Calling after me.

Great songs ther Barb. Two of my favourites from the Collins / Genesis oevre  :'(.

This one's from Jack to Ennis...

'Wishing You Were Here' by Alison Moyet - great song.

I can't begin to tell you how it feels
It's a clear blue sky
Out here my heart so full it's fit to burst
Just counting the hours
Home, such a long way gone
How to share a day
Here's my only way
Send myself to you
Wishing you were here

I can't begin to tell you where I've been
It's a world behind
And if we are to find our heaven here
We just have to look harder
Now I can see you
I never could before
Now I want nothing more
When I close my eyes
Wishing you were here

Home such a long way gone
How to share a day
Here's my only way
When I close my eyes
Wishing you were here
Will you stop playing with that radio of yours, I'm trying to get to sleep!

Here's one that I think is being sung to Ennis just after the end of the film... It's by Lesiem. I'll come back and translate this latin for you in a little bit. :)

Temperantia

Mora Aurea Mediocritas
Continentia. Clementia. Flammula
Unio Mystica. Vigilate Et Orate
Utor Media Via O Via Sacra
Revela Domino Viam Tuam. Mille Viae

Advocatus Dei. Advocatus Diaboli
Vivitur Parvo Bene O Vita Vivat Vita
Ne Vivam Si Verum Non Dico. Ne Vivam
Venite Filii Audite Me: Clementia

Continentia. Clementia. Flammula
Unio Mystica. Vigilate Et Orate
Ne Vivam Si Verum Non Dico. Ne Vivam
Venite Filii Audite Me: Modestia

Latin Lyrics by Thomas Pflanz

When dreams will never last - caught in fears of past
Shades of forgotten melodies- will sing your tears far away
harmony will stay
if you believe in modesty and peace

Warm rivers full of life - flow to paradise
leave memories of stormy seas and break an ocean of ice
days will follow nights
just believe - your vision comes alive

After all, looking back on ways you left behind
only dreams survived
Life has turned to different times
feelings changed the seasons
Open up your mind, hear the voice inside
fight your destiny - future shines so bright

English Lyrics by Diana Lasch
Why do we consume what we consume?
Why do we believe what we believe?
Why do we accept what we accept?
You have a body, a mind, and a soul.... You have a responsibility.

Has this one been mentioned?  I think of BBM when I play "Back to You" by Bryan Adams.

Wonderful choices everyone!  :)

I have another one from Jane Siberry/KD Lang

The Valley

I live in the hills
You live in the valleys
And all that you know are those blackbirds
You rise every morning
Wondering what in the world will the world bring today
Will it bring you joy or will it take it away
And every step you take is guided by
The love of the light on the land and the blackbird's cry
You will walk in good company
The valley is dark
The burgeoning holding
The stillness obscured by their judging
You walk through the shadows
Uncertain and surely hurting
Deserted by the blackbirds and the staccato of the staff
And though you trust the light towards which you wend your way
Sometimes you feel all that you wanted has been taken away
You will walk in good company
I love the best of you
You love the best of me
Though it is not always easy
Lovely? Lonely?
We will walk in good company
The shepherd upright and flowing
You see...
