I love this:

If we both were born
In another place and time
This moment might be ending in a kiss
But there you are with yours
And here I am with mine
So I guess we'll just be leaving it at this

Guess I have another one to look for on iTunes!  ;)

Yes, they are the lines, that I really noticed and felt for Ennis and Jack...I hope if you download it off ITunes you manage to get it by Peter Allen.....I have heard this song lots and lots of time by Olivia Newton John, and I've always liked it, but hearing it sung by Peter, just seemed to give it another meaning......

A time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, a time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you.

Bookends Theme by Simon & Garfunkel.

I posted it before eons ago and it's still the BBM song for me, because of the lyrics and also because it's such a simple (and short!) song with just a single acoustic guitar and two perfectly harmonised voices. Just beautiful, and it's one of my melancholy songs - y'know, certain songs you always listen to when you feel blue. Still, I'm sat here stuffing my teary face with sherry trifle, so life can't be all that bad... ;)
Will you stop playing with that radio of yours, I'm trying to get to sleep!

I have just gone into Limewire....there are plenty of dowloads available of Olivia Newton John singing it, about 700, but only a few of Peter Allen, which I tried to download but there were no sources.....Olivia does a lovely job of the song as well, it was one of the songs she sang in Grease......but knowing that Peter Allen wrote it, I am surprised now, that more male singers havent released it.....

Not A Day Goes By

Got a picture of you I carry in my heart
Close my eyes to see it when the world gets dark
Got a memory of you I carry in my soul
I wrap it close around me when the nights get cold
If you asked me how I'm doin' I'd say just fine
But the truth is baby, if you could read my mind

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you
After all this time you're still with me it's true
Somehow you remain locked so deep inside
Baby, baby, oh baby, not a day goes by

I still wait for the phone in the middle of the night
Thinkin' you might call me if your dreams don't turn out right
And it still amazes me that I lie here in the dark
Wishin' you were next to me, your head against my heart
If you asked me how I'm doing I'd say just fine
But the truth is baby, if you could read my mind

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you
After all this time you're still with me it's true
Somehow you remain locked so deep inside
Baby, baby, oh baby, not a day goes by

Minutes turn to hours, and the hours to days
Seems it's been forever that I've felt this way

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you
After all this time you're still with me it's true
Somehow you remain locked so deep inside
Baby, baby, oh baby, not a day goes by

This is the song my ex and I use to sing to each other when we were together.

Now when I hear it, I think of Ennis and Jack.  :)

"Amazed" by Lonestar

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams.

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you, it just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life with you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you.

The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me, baby you surround me
You touch everyplace in my heart
Oh, it feels like the first time every time
I wanna spent the whole night in your eyes

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you, it just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life with you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you.

Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life with you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Oh, every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you.

I will check on Limewire again, maybe I will have more success, I will let you know!

I love the Lonestar lyrics, David, they are so nice and romantic and sad all at once...

Not A Day Goes By

I don't know this song, but the lyrics are so fitting and so sad.

I've another one, of which I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet. I can't make up my mind about this song. Some days I find it soppy and overdone, especially the (melo)dramatic rising of the music at the beginning of the last verse. On other days I think it's beautiful. Maybe some days I am soppy  ;) and in the right mood for it.
Today was such a day. I hadn't heard it in a long time and today it reminded me of BBM. Part of the lyrics fit for our boys and part reminded me so much of Ennis.

The Rose by Bette Midler

Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.

I say love, it is a flower,
and you its only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance.

It's the one who won't be taken,
who cannot seem to give,
and the soul afraid of dyin'
that never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been to long,
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong,
just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed that with the sun's love
in the spring becomes the rose.

There is a BBM vid on youtube with this song. I think the pictures are well chosen to fit the lyrics.
