Jake says, "Merry Christmas, Brokies!"

Thanks Jake!!

(I happened to watch Losing Isaiah today, and old movie I had never seen, and low and behold Naomi Foner was the writer and Stephen Gyllenhaal the director.  So it was a warm thought, "Oh, Jake's parents..." followed by a sad one, "Oh it sucks the stuff they're going through right now...")

His shoes there remind me a little bit of cowboy boots... though it's somewhat hard to tell for sure from this angle.

It's cool to see him out and about with his Mom!  I like his Mom (from what I know about her).

After I got over the "look, how cute, Reese and Jake's mom..."  I was stuck staring at the boots for many moments, **Jake's wearing cowboy boots!Jake's wearing cowboy boots!Jake's wearing cowboy boots!** running through my head.

I love possibilities like this for some reason.  Anyway, it certainly seems plausible (based on the glimpse of the style of shoe in the pic with Jake, Reese and his Mom) that he's wearing super-simple cowboy boots... much like the super-simple cowboy boots that Jack wears.  The shoes in the pic of Jake look too clean to be Jack's boots.  But, I feel like I remember hearing somewhere that Heath kept his Ennis boots (although, I don't quite know why I have that idea in my head), so it seems possible that Jake kept his Jack boots as a souvenir.  Anyway, wearing cowboy boots, even just random cowboy boots, could never be an insignificant gesture for Jake again, I would assume.

If you check out Jake candids in the IHJ gallery, you'll notice he wore cowboy boots even before BBM. He obviously likes to wear them.  I don't think  the boots he wore when shopping with Reese and his mother are the same boots from the film.

Oh I just think it's fun to think that Jake thought "oh I'll wear cowboy boots today..."  in as much as guys 'think' about what shoes they wear when going out shopping with mom and significant other.

(confession - I accidentally typed 'Jack' first when I wrote what I did above... Freudian slip on my part, I suppose...  :))

No, I don't think they are either... the boots in the candid are too clean looking when you compare them to the boots from the film.

Delalluvia-  Robert Mitchum was before my time too- but those bedroom eyes are forever and a day-  What I am attempting to say is that information concerning celebrities is 'so in your face' nowadays that we almost know the toliet habits of some.... And you're right- it sure does beat the shit out of drones sifting thru paperwork without a hope in hell except grabbing in haste the new Enquirer on the newstand.  I adored Brokeback Mountain and Ennis and Jack.  Let's leave it at that.
