I know, and I never understood it myself.  I know he wasn't totally deaf, so I think he had a "use it or lose it" mentality, and felt like he should "force" it to work, as if that was even possible.

It wasn't sharp at all Gary. Actually the way they start out they make it seem a good way for someone to hear things who has problems hearing. My father does have problems hearing out of one ear so I never really thought anything about it until I saw the ad. In the ad they start out that way, but then they move on to show how you can hear other people's conversations. They even seem to make that look innocent.
