Is Martin Luther King Day still a holiday? I hope so, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just another thing that was erased or clawed back. :'(

I think it still is. The Great Orange Satan did something about it; I think you can't get into a national park, or some such place, for free anymore on MLK Day or Juneteenth, but you can on his birthday. But my memory about that could be wrong.

the bank is closed for that day, so I'm assuming it's still a holiday.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!
How is everyone doing this weekend?
Work has been up and down with how busy it's been, but Friday seemed to calm down, and I'm glad about that. I managed to get everything done, and can spend the three-day weekend not worrying about what didn't get done by EOD Friday.
This weekend I have a birthday party for my aunt, she's turned 90 and her family is doing a catered party at a steakhouse. It will be fun to see the family again!
I also decided to put up my Valentine's Day stuff. You can see pics here.

Other than that, I'm looking to enjoy my quiet weekend!
It snowed today, and I had to take a quick drive out, so I posted pics in the Weather thread. You can see them here.

Hi Chuck and everyone,
Regarding my weekend, I'm reminded of what Dame Maggie Smith's character, the Dowager Countess of Grantham, said, "What is a weekend?" In fact, my weekend is my work week and my week is my weekend. I'm incredibly busy these two days. Today, I had sewing circle at my church. It's actually a support group for the sewing circle leader. Before that, I had to prepare the minutes for the Rock Garden Society meeting that was held last Sunday. I usually work on these at a leisurely pace and then post them shortly before the next board meeting. But, now they're needed just a few days after the meeting because of a lot of questions and controversy. And tonight, I need to make progress on my blog "Everybody Eats" and a bio of the president of the Native American Sacred Trees group where I'm an officer. Tomorrow I have church, with an all-congregation meeting afterwards and preparing for a meeting on Monday. And preparing for the Women's March on Tuesday. Also, I need to work on my taxes every chance I get. No need to hyperventilate! It will all get done, more or less.
