Hanging out with an adult son is very special! Now that my son is married and has two children, it's a very rate event for me.

My son is getting married in July. No children yet, but his wife-to-be is a former elementary school teacher (she recently started working at ComEd), so I imagine it's on a not-too-distant horizon. He just turned 30 and AFAIK she's about the same age, so I suppose if they want kids it would happen in the next few years, at least.

They live in Chicago so that would make it even harder for him to hang out. My older son lives here in Minneapolis, and I like hanging out with him, too (we've been going to movies lately), but in general he's not as helpful as my younger son.

I hope to be allowed to take the oldest gchildren to Hail Mary Project. Anybody seen it yet? What did you think?

I haven't seen it yet but I will -- I'm a Ryan Gosling fan and I've read good reviews!

So, I saw PHM and I think I can say a few words without spoiling anything, since the trailers, ads and interviews have spilled all the beans already.

It is a good mix of humor and drama, although some of the jokes are inane. There is a lot of tugging of the heartstrings and more of the special effects than I really needed. I enjoyed the many references to other sci-fi movies: 2001, Superman, Alien, Close Encounters, etc. Are those called Easter Eggs?

Rocky is my new hero. I loved it when he simply said, "I can give."

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well!  :)

Friday night was a night for me to spur on the economy!

I did my grocery order, and I ordered a bunch of stuff on Amazon.   I have 2 or 3 good knives, and I decided it was finally time to order one of those knife sets that stands on your counter.  My cutting board is beat to hell, so I ordered a three set of bamboo cutting boards.  My couch cushions are very worn, so I ordered new couch cushions, I've decided I'm tired of lugging out the vacuum to clean the furniture, so I ordered a hand-held vac.  The Easter lights I have up started to flicker on Thursday night, so I ordered new pink lights.  What spurred this all on is that in two weeks I have some guests coming for dinner, and I needed a place for everyone to eat off of, so I ordered those fold-open TV trays, so people don't have to sit and hold a plate or place it on their laps while they try to eat.  I also ordered a package of the bento take-out containers to use for leftovers from the dinner so my guests can take any leftover home, if they want.

Work has been going well, keeping me busy.  I think I'm finally fully acclimated to working from home 100% of the time now.

Did some chores around the apartment yesterday, and today I'll be seeing the family for lunch.  After that, quiet evening at home.

The week before the dinner I'm hosting, (dinner is the 18th) I took as vacation so I can use it for a good spring cleaning on the apartment, and food prep.

How is everyone else??

Happy Easter, Chuck!

I recently (well, within the past year) ordered the bamboo cutting-board three set and fold-out wooden tray tables from Amazon, too! I ordered a lightweight stick vacuum a month or two ago. I have a fairly new countertop knife set, but it's more than a year old.

Hi Katy!

I got home from my parents' place, and some of the stuff I ordered already arrived.

The hand vac, knife set, Easter lights, bento boxes, and cutting board set are all in place.

;D

It's a little table that opens, and you can put food and such on it, and then folds so you can store it away.
