In Scotland the summer holidays are about 6 weeks from the start of July until Mid august.

We have 10 weeks off---I get really spoiled and slothful. LOL.

I work an occasional odd job here and there, but I don't get a full time job (usually). Tho I have worked whole summers in a factory---that's nice for $$, but it makes for a long, long year.

We do have to get 60 hours of professional development throughout the year, and I try to get most of mine during the summer. So I'll go to some of those workshops.

I will just relax. I don't plan to do much. I told my best friend I'd drive over (to the hills)  and help her take two of her dogs to the vet for neutering---she has more dogs than I have---plus she has cats! Cows and horses, too! I've been invited to FL and to a friend's lake house, but I probably won't go. I've become a homebody.  8) ;)

For moms--being a teacher is a great job. I'm encouraging my niece to think about it, at least. Working somewhere that you get to know your kids' friends, being off in the evenings and summers with the kids. Being able to go the kids' school programs, etc. And ya get paid over 12 months, so the summer is covered. IMO--if ya gotta work and you have children--it's a good deal. (If one is so inclined, of course.)

I've talked to people who say they'd do anything BUT teach. LOL. They say they don't have the patience. It takes a lot.  ;D ;)
