You really live in the wrong country. In both Australia and NZ (which is a bit more stingy than Aust about holidays) there will a holiday on Monday for Christmas and on Tuesday for Boxing Day (26th). No banks will be open until Wednesday.  Even shops (unless small with few employees) are closed on Saturday and Sunday. They will be open with big sales from Monday.  Being mid-summer most offices only have a skeleton staff between Christmas and New Year (wed-fri) and factories close for 3 or 4 weeks. It is very hard to get a tradesperson from now until mid-January.

Same for us... we have a public holiday on the next week day if Xmas and/or Boxing Day fall on a weekday.

I'm on holiday until 10 Jan...

Our Christmas day is just about to end. Right about now, in fact.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Day.  :) :)

I don't go back to the office until 4th Jan, so am technically on holidays, except I work on contract so don't get paid. 'Tho I do pay myself for holidays. Gets a bit confusing.  :-\

This was the first Christmas Day I can remember being on my own.

It wasn't worth doing a special lunch for one, but I did have grilled cheese and home grown tomato for tea.

It was a nice, peaceful day, and Christmas is all about peace.  :)

I just calculated the total of all the Christmas cards I wrote out.  Between what I just gave out to coworkers, as well as mailed to Brokies, family and other friends, 138 cards.

:o

Wow  :o   You must have had enough sent back to you to wallpaper your room !   :)

And the Post Offices in Oz have a holiday on Friday 31st December, then there's a public holiday in Oz on Monday 3rd January because New Year's Day is on a Saturday, and Building Industry workers have their monthly 'rostered day off' on Tuesday 4th January.

That's probably why it's called 'The lucky country'.  ;D

Hiya BetterMost friends.

My goodness!

Well Christmas was good!  Nice time with the family, good food, laughs.  ;D

Had today off, so I did a lot of nuthin', and prepped for the big snowstorm we were predicted to get.  Weathermen were right, and we're in the middle of a doozy of a snowstorm.  I think we have about a foot of the white stuff around.

Pics are next!
