Well, it just seems like when you have all your ducks in a row, someone comes in and throws breadcrumbs everywhere!

It was such a mess here yesterday, even with my cube being empty, that I got nothing done, and I'm looking around a messy cube again.

Anyway.....I couldn't even get here to do yesterday's travel destination, so I'll yesterday's and today's today.

Yesterday's travel destination:

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Santa Maria la Menor, dating to 1514, is the oldest catherdal in the Americas and a central attraction of Santo Domingo's rich colonial district.  Every July and August, infectous modern sounds float over the old buildings from the merengue Festival and El Malecon, the seaside promanade where musicians and dancers gather and attract huge crowds who celebrate well into the wee hours.

Today's travel destination:

Savonlinna, Finland.

Set amid gorgeous scenery, the town of Savonlinna occupies three islands in Lake Saimaa.  the old stone wals of the 15th-century Olavinlinna Castle, connected by a bridge to the mainland, fill with music each summer as theh Savonlinna Opera Festival takes place in the courtyard.
