Brokies seem to be a well-traveled bunch!  ;D  Seems that most places I put on my calendar, someone here has been there.

Today's travel destination:

Dun Aenjgus, Aran Islands, Galway, Ireland.

At Dun Aengus, an 11 -acre, 4,000-year-old megalithic cliff fort, visitors can relish a moody, windblown solitude.  In nearby pubs, they can hear the mummur of Irish Gaelic, still the everyday language ijn the Aran Islands.

Met a couple from Seattle on the bus who joined me for dinner and have invited me to stay with them when I next get to the States.

Happy Hump Day!

Hope everyone is doing well!  ;D   Today after work I'm going to a friend's house for a bbq, and I'm bringing a small dessert.  I also told them about the diet, and that I'll have a hamburger without the bun.

Today's travel destination:

Hardangerfjord, Norway.

Oma Island brings its own pastoral beauty to Hardangerfjord, considered one of the loveliest of the countless fjords that create Norway's lacework coastline.  Hardanger - the Garden Fjord - stretches 113 miles inland, adn terraced fruit orchards cover its fertile banks.

The weekend draws nearer!  ;D

I slept ok last night, but woke up feeling tired.  I'm feeling more awake now, and since I'm at work, I guess that's a good thing.  LOL

The bbq yesterday was fun, considering it was only my friend Roseanne and I.  She used to work with me at the bank, and was let go with the downsizing, but we've stayed in touch.  She landed on her feet, and got another job, maybe a little better than what she had here.  ;D

We hung out for about 4 hours or so, just catching up and gossiping and such.  It was a good time!


Today's travel destination:

Edinburgh, Scotland.

Although tickets should be bought in advance for the principal performances of Edinburgh's August festivals of music, drama, dance, and alternative entertainment, the choices aer so abundant (and many of them free) that one can show up empty-handed and still be guaranteed a wonderful time.
