I would think you'd rather see NY instead of NJ!

Hiya BetterMost friends.

The weekend and Christmas are fast approaching!

More issues with my time off.   :-X

One of the people I work for told me that there will be two new loans closing before the end of the year.  ::)  So the time off I planned on taking is gone now.  Oh well!   LOL

I'll be putting in my timesheet that I'll be taking the time off, otherwise I'll lose it.  Then when 2012 comes, I'll take days off, but list them as time worked, so it will all work out in the end.

Today's destination:  Panama Canal, Panama.

The epic Panama Canal was one of the greatest engineering achievements of the 20th century.  Completed in 1914 to connect the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, it is now in the midst of enlargement to accomdate today's mammoth cargo ships.  Most canal cruise ships offer onboard lecturers who describe the locks and their functions a the travelers make the 50-mile crossing.

Very interesting to actually see a picture of that canal, Chuck.  The land is so green around it.

Hiya BetterMost friends.

It's Christmas Eve, eve!

It's sooooo nice to be done with everything, although I do have one more gift to buy.  My supervisor (Maria) gave me a gift on Wednesday, and I want to get one for her, but only just thougth of what to get her today.

I'll stop by a nearby drug store and get her a "basket of beauty", with lotions, files, and things like that.

Today's destination:  Terre-De-Haut, Iles Des Saintes, Guadeloupe.

The Iles Des Saintes, a small archipelago off the shore of Guadeoupe, is quiet and rural enough to make it an escape even for the Guadelopeans themselves.  Terre-De-Haut, the largets of the Saintes, is only slightly more tourist-oriented than the rest, wtih pastel cottages housing bed and breakfasts and winding trails good for hiking.

*does happy dance*

I have not been told I can leave early today.  To be honest, I'm not surprised, and Christmas Eve is tomorrow and we don't work Saturdays.

However, my plan has worked!  I emailed all the client's I do business with and reminded them that because Christmas and New Year's fall on Sundays this year, the bank is closed Monday.  I also told them there was a chance we'd leave early today and next Friday, and if they had anything that needed to be done, to get it to me before 2:00.

Well the morning was busy, but by the time lunch came, everything died!  ;D

I used the spare time to get my filing done and clean out my cube, and now I have 75 minutes to surf the 'net, and still get out on time!

Yay!

I also wrapped up my week at lunchtime - I can't work over 40 - and Monday and Tuesday were long days.

Merry Christmas, Chuck!
