So today I heard this song on the way to work. I looked it up and guess what it is by Tim McGraw too. Apparently, I like Tim McGraw although I already knew I did. There for awhile everytime I heard a song that I looked up it turned out to be an Alan Jackson song who I also like very much. Here are the lyrics to the song from this morning:
Where The Green Grass GrowsTim McGraw
Six lanes
Taillights
Red ants marchin' into the night
They disappear to the left and right again
Another supper from a sack
A ninety-nine cent heart attack
I got a poundin' head and an achin' back
And the camel's buried in a big straw stack
I'm gonna live where the green grass grows
Watchin' my corn pop up in rows
Every night be tucked in close to you
Raise our kids where the good Lord's blessed
Point our rocking chairs towards the west
Plant our dreams where the peaceful river flows
Where the green grass grows
Well I'm from a map dot
A stop sign on a black top
I caught the first bus I could hop from there
But all this glitter is gettin' dark
There's concrete growin' in the city park
I don't know who my neighbors are
And there's bars on the corners and bars on my heart
I'm gonna live where the green grass grows
Watchin' my corn pop up in rows
Every night be tucked in close to you
Raise our kids where the good Lord's blessed
Point our rocking chairs towards the west
Plant our dreams where the peaceful river flows
Where the green grass grows
I'm gonna live where the green grass grows
Watchin' my corn pop up in rows
Every night be tucked in close to you
Raise our kids where the good Lord's blessed
Point our rocking chairs towards the west
Plant our dreams where the peaceful river flows
Where the green grass grows

Here's a song that I play every so often, that I love the lyrics of. It talks about not being able to see the forrest because of the trees.
It came out a few years ago, recorded by Gloria Gaynor (I Will Survive) and is called "I Never Knew".
It's really been a long time
Since I let somebody hold me
Since I felt safe in somebody's arms,
You were a good friend I could confide in
But after all the lies he told me
I couldn't let nobody in my heart
I was torn apart
All this time you've been right here
He's been doing nothing but wrong
And though the best thing in my life was
Here with me all along
I never knew
Right beside me there was an angel
I never knew
You'd give my heart the wings to fly
Because of you
Everything in my life is changing
Turning it to
The kind of heaven that I never Knew
You kissed away my tears
And now they've disappeared
You make me feel safe in somebody's arms
You're the kind that can do me no harm
These questions everybody asks me
They say they've never seen me so happy
But that's a secret between you and me
They don't know nothing about us baby
Can't let up, Can't tell anybody
that you're not from around here
They don't know that you're an angel
But now it's all so clear
I never knew
Right beside me there was an angel
I never knew
You'd give my heart the wings to fly
Because of you
Everything in my life is changing
Turning it to
The kind of heaven that I never Knew
Is this a dream
Are you for real
You got me honey
Feeling things that I never thought I'd feel
You taught me love
Don't have to break my heart in two
That's just one more of those things
That I never, never knew
I never knew
Right beside me there was an angel
I never, never knew (that my heart could fly)
It's all because of you baby
My life is changing
Turning it to
The kind of heaven that I never knew

Up Where We Belong
Joe Cocker
Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world few hearts survive?
All I know is the way I feel.
When it's real, I keep it alive.
The road is long, there are mountains in our way,
But we climb a step every day.
Love lifts us up where we belong,
Where the eagles cry
On a mountain high.
Love lifts us up where we belong,
Far from the world below,
Up where the clear winds blow.
Some hang on to "used to be,"
Live their lives looking behind.
All we have is here and now,
All our life, out there to find.
The road is long, there are mountains in our way,
But we climb a step every day
Love lifts us up where we belong,
Where the eagles cry
On a mountain high.
Love lift us up where we belong,
Far from the world we know,
Where the clear winds blow.
Time goes by, no time to cry,
Life's you and I. A life today.

I love the words of that song Chuck! I don't think I have ever heard it or anything by Gloria Gaynor lately. I sure do know her old songs well. I am going to have to look for this one. Thanks for posting it.
