Thanks Jess.
Ain't no thang! LOL
We learn and we move on!
Like a genius once told me, Breathe in, Breathe out, move on (and drink lots of water)!!

Richard the words to that song although very sad are beautiful. Thanks for posting them. I'm not sure I have ever heard the song, but I am going to look for it. And yes you are right we do learn and move on. Sometimes it's just not as easy to do as it sounds. But time does heal and good friends help a lot too. I am very glad to see you over here at my blog and I hope to see you over here more :)

This song says so much!
The Dance
Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

You picked the words and the song that mean so much to me. I can't even think hardly of another song except the one that for whatever reason just came on..........
Stay by Sugarland[/b]
I've been sitting here staring at the clock on the wall
And I've been laying here praying, praying she won't call
It's just another call from home
And you'll get it and be gone
And I'll be crying
And I'll be begging you, baby
Beg you not to leave
But I'll be left here waiting
With my Heart on my sleeve
Oh, for the next time we'll be here
Seems like a million years
And I think I'm dying
What do I have to do to make you see
She can't love you like me?
Why don't you stay
I'm down on my knees
I'm so tired of being lonely
Don't I give you what you need
When she calls you to go
There is one thing you should know
We don't have to live this way
Baby, why don't you stay
You keep telling me, baby
There will come a time
When you will leave her arms
And forever be in mine
But I don't think that's the truth
And I don't like being used and I'm tired of waiting
It's too much pain to have to bear
To love a man you have to share
Why don't you stay
I'm down on my knees
I'm so tired of being lonely
Don't I give you what you need
When she calls you to go
There is one thing you should know
We don't have to live this way
Baby, why don't you stay
I can't take it any longer
But my will is getting stronger
And I think I know just what I have to do
I can't waste another minute
After all that I've put in it
I've given you my best
Why does she get the best of you
So next time you find you wanna leave her bed for mine
Why don't you stay
I'm up off my knees
I'm so tired of being lonely
You can't give me what I need
When she begs you not to go
There is one thing you should know
I don't have to live this way
Baby, why don't you stay, yeah
And I live this song for years...............but it stays the same

Tell Me I Was Dreamingby Travis Tritt
--- End quote ---
That's a great song. Have you heard the full, 6.5-minute version of it? The best part is the final chorus when he screams "Tell me I was DREEEEEEAMIIIIINNN'!" and then when he goes "oh-whoa-oh" right before "Tell me that you didn't say goodbye." The final lines, "Don't tell me. . . you didn't say. . . goodbye," with the cry in his voice tear me up. And I love the way he says "hawm" instead of "home."
Man, I love Travis Tritt, though I haven't been keeping up with him much in the last few years. He's good. Some of his stuff can get you all rowdy and riled up and ready for some $hit kicking; then some of his stuff can break your heart and make you cry. Brings back a lot of memories.
Have you heard "Anymore" by him? It's one of my all-time favorite songs. I associate it with "Tell Me I Was Dreaming" because the videos for those two and for "If I Lost You" are a trilogy about a paralyzed war vet.
Here's the lyrics to "Anymore":
I can't hide the way I feel about you anymore
I can't hold the hurt inside, keep the pain out of my eyes anymore
My tears no longer waiting...my resistance ain't that strong
My mind keeps recreating a life with you alone
And I'm tired of pretending that I don't love you anymore
Let me make one last appeal to show you how I feel about you...hmmm
Cause there's no one else I swear, holds a candle, anywhere, next to you
My heart can't take the beating of not having you to hold
A small voice keeps repeating deep inside my soul...
It says I can't keep pretending that I don't love you anymore
I've got to take the chance or let it pass by
If I expect to get on with my life
With my life...
My tears no longer waiting
Oh, my resistance ain't that strong
Oh, my mind keeps recreating a life with you alone
And I'm tired of pretending I don't love you anymore...anymore...anymore
There are several different videos on Youtube of him performing the song live. I've got four of them on my faux-pod. The original recording is great, but hearing the song with just him and his guitar kills me.
Some other good, early stuff of his is. . .
"I'm Gonna Be Somebody"
"Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)"
"Bible Belt"
"Lord Have Mercy on the Working Man"
"Can I Trust You With My Heart"
--- Quote ---By the way Chuck I was listening to one of the stations you told me about in NYC, Z100 WHTZ, at work yesterday and right away they played "What Hurts The Most" by Cascada and then "Don't Stop The Music" by Rihanna. I thought of you :) Here's the song I heard on the way home:
--- End quote ---
Have you heard Rihanna's "S.O.S. (Rescue Me)"? Fierce.
