Meryl:
After our overnight at the wildly overdecorated El Rancho Hotel in Gallup (see Mika's pictures), we breakfasted at Garcia's along Route 66 before getting about cleaned out at a nearby Native American jewelry outlet:
Then there was the big Norway Day celebration at Dairy Queen en route to Albuquerque:
Shopping in Old Town in Albuquerque:
Finally, a day trip up to Santa Fe, which was lovely, but the jewelry prices were way too rich for our pocketbooks! We did much better in Gallup.
And finally, back East at last, an attempt to take a picture of the Manhattan skyline from Jersey in heavy traffic:
Ellemeno:
Wonderful, Meryl! But what is this "roll of film" you speak of? No capisce.
:)
And welcome, Fritz!
:D
CellarDweller:

Jeff Wrangler:
So has anybody else seen the latest real-life Jack Twist?
His name is Neal Wanless, he's a 23-year-old ranch kid from a kind of hardscrabble ranch in South Dakota. And he won the Powerball drawing. I saw him on the evening news on Saturday: Big black cowboy hat (almost looked too big for him), great big belt buckle (couldn't tell if it's a rodeo buckle), big, slightly goofy grin. Between the hat and the buckle, the first thing I thought was, "Jack!"
Cute boy. Seems like a real nice kid. :)
