Morning all,

42 degrees, not as sunny as yesterday, but maybe it will clear up.

I did have a very nice time visiting with David and Louise. We talked about Bettermost, the movie, fanfic and life in general. In case anyone is wondering about the menu, David and Louise each started off with a bowl of tomato-saffron soup. Louise and I shared a plate of nachos with cheese. Then I had a pulled pork sandwich with fries; David had fish and chips; and Louise had taquitos. Beverages included beer, wine, iced tea, coffee, and water. No dessert for any of us. In the evening, I was still full so we had breakfast for dinner: pancakes, bacon, and fruit salad.

A fun day....now it is back to work!

Yes, pulled pork. Basically, a pork shoulder is cooked for a very long time with barbecue rub and sauce, then when it is is done, it is "pulled" apart (it usually falls apart pretty easily) into shreds, then served on a bun. An authentic pulled pork bbq sandwich (from the Carolinas) is served with coleslaw, but there was no coleslaw anywhere in sight yesterday.

If you have a crockpot (do they have crockpots in Belgium, Fabienne?) a really easy recipe is to put the pork in your crockpot and add 1/2 to 1 jar of Bone Suckin Sauce (amount depends on the size of the pork shoulder). Cook all day (9-12 hours) until the meat is falling apart. Serve with additional sauce and colelsaw.
