Fiona, thanks for the reminder about getting my legs above my heart. The bed in my room is electric and the feet and head can be raised. So last night, I put the feet up and that seems to have made a big difference. There is still a little bit of swelling but they look a LOT better.

13 degrees this morning. I have ANOTHER busy day ahead of me!

I am glad it worked and  your feet are a bit better.That's very handy having an electric bed I only ever had one of those when I was in hospital.I t was that funnily enough that reminded me about the raising the feet thing.
The kids used to think it was a riot when they came to visit, making the bed go into every position possible, bless !!  Not so fun with a stomach full of stitches mindyou.!!

I seem to recall the blue lights were first illuminated at the 6-month point, March 11, 2002.  I was actually in NYC then and saw this, plus tourists posing for photos with police officers, general camaraderie.

I was flying somewhere when the lights were illuminated and the pilot went right over Manhattan and told us to look. The lights were right outside the plane windows. Talk about chills!

It had a massive impact in England as well I cried for ages.I remember walking out of an eye exam and my receptionist said look, there's a plane just crashed into one of the twin towers.I watched transfixed.Took my next patient in and as I came out,there was another plane.At first, Ithought the were just rerunning the 1st.
I kept all the newspapers as a reminder of how wicked people can be.
The pictures of people jumping out of the towers was more than I could bear and haunted me for weeks.Particularly the 2 holding hands.Then the cell phone calls from people on the planes.OMG it's giving me goose bumps again.I hope as long as I live I never see something as horrendous as that again.
