           Happy New Year!   Glad to have a place to leave ya little notes and stuff.  Of course I can always send ya PM's, which i will do from time to time.

          My grandmothers family settled Texas...so they were from everywhere....The last few living from
  Mexia, Stamford, to all points.. 

          I guess I could tell you the story of my grandmothers connection to Cynthia Ann Parker. 
          I am sure you have all heard the story of the capture of the white women and children by the
   Native americans from the fort in Texas.  They were taken from fort Parker which is the family name.
   The movie "The Searchers" and many others of that same story being based on that event...
          The town that Leslies story is set in "Quanah" is about the young son of Cynthia Ann Parker, who
   grew up to become one of the most famous Indian chiefs who fought against the white settlers. 
   Eventually he surrendered, and moved his people to fort Sill Oklahoma.  When he was living there he
   finally moved his mothers body there as well before he died.

 My mother in Stamford.  There is still an old Parker family graveyard....
