How does the frozen thing work, will you ever be able to take a loan or get a new card again?

Hello Sonja!  It's like Katy said.   If I should need a loan or card, I would simply unfreeze my profile long enough for the application to be accepted, and then refreeze it.  This basically stops anyone from trying to obtain credit in my name.

I did manage to get good sleep last night, so I'm already feeling better!

As for being socialist, I'm not even sure sometimes how to identify myself, other than NOT right-leaning or conservative!

It seems like a good safety precaution. When you  first mentioned it, I thought it was something the bank did to you. But if you're in charge of handling it yourself, it seems like a very good idea to me.
Not sure we have that option here.
